"its much like she brainwashes people to hurt themselves for her. "
Those are another set of words that are so brilliant Lunarscope and well said!
If people who have helped her and have supported her throughout her life and then become useless in her schemes and threaten her security, Arias will not hesitate to throw them under the bus and/or encourage them to do repulsive things for her.
Having said this, I have trouble believing that she has that much power to brainwash people to do her bidding.
What I think is that she is a master at finding weaknesses in people, their tendencies to "follow" and their own deviant and/or screwed up issues in their lives and she just plays on what is already there in them. She manipulates their weaknesses to benefit her as long as she needs them.
Before her arrest and subsequent trials where she was found guilty, she used her sexuality as her main tool.
Since being in jail, she can no longer use this sexual behaviour so she courts those who seem to be supporters, learns as much as she can about them and then the manipulation begins.
I cannot support the idea that she is powerful over others (except when she seduces them as she used to do).
She is devious in her ways and that becomes her advantage (in her mind).
However, all of her many lies throughout her life and especially throughout this case, have come back to bite her in the ass.
And that is why she is not as smart as she thinks she is. And that is why she is not powerful. she is just evil.
She IS manipulative and a severe narcissist and a pathological liar but not that good of a one because she got caught and is about to be severely punished.
Although Nurmi (and Wilmott) are extremely unethical lawyers who will do and say anything in defense of their client much to the disgust of most, I find it hard to believe that after all this with this case, they would do something that could jeopardize their careers for the future and also put them in danger of criminal prosecution.
Nurmi is a low-life (Wilmott is a follower) and that is not in dispute.
Although they may have had an awareness that something fishy has been going on, I think they would try to keep their distance.
MDLR - not sure about her. Too much controversy surrounding her to think she isn't involved somehow.
All will get what is due them just like Arias.
