Lawbird started this thread on my other blog then I asked!
Lawbird only posts for legal clarification, avoiding most conversations' I consider accuracy and hope he is correct for Alexander family's sake!
Lawbird thread
State to call Lonnie Dworkin as final witness
JM has indicated that he will be calling Lonnie Dworkin to the stand next. As you may recall, Dworkin testified for the Defense during the actual trial. He showed the "Travis'" panties and testified that there could be porn on Travis Alexander's computer.
Could be interesting! From the tweets it seems that Dworkin is not sure how this will work as he is usually hired by the Defense. Willmont and Nurmi decried unfair suprise and JM informed the Court that they had known for months, and he would even provide a copy of his questions to the Defense!
Thoughts?

Just proceduring' Defense resting, then what are the stages called, are impact statements over and done, Jodi allocates, what happens from now up to jury instructions?

After State finishes tomorrow, the DT does a surrebuttal with Dr. G and Dr. F. They may call Deanna and Abe also. Then allocution by JA.

Thank the Lord the end is near. Guaranteed the butcher told the DT to slow this down. No way she will head off to Perryville without pulling at least one more stunt.

I am fascinated LawBird! I have never heard of this, but since this is the first trial I have ever followed I don’t have any idea how common this is. I am thinking not so much. I have some questions, if you wouldn’t mind sharing your thoughts. I would love to hear what Liberty thinks as well. Aw hell, I want to hear what all of you think! The legal aspects of this case is what first caught my attention (juror questions allowed).
- The state is being very accommodating with questions in advance, etc. Is this to ensure they don’t cross any lines that could create appellate issues or a mistrial?
- Are there any guidelines or restrictions with the questioning ? I am thinking they can’t go beyond the scope of what has been asked in the other trial.
- How common is this?
As far as the trial getting close to ending, I know Nurmi is doing his best to create delays. Is it for the Omnibus hearing that keeps getting pushed out? I loved it when the judge called him out on his witnesses not being available until the 18th and wanted to call them to verify.
