There were always books of all kinds in our house and my grandparents' homes. One thing I have wondered about is if it might be some sort of genetic thing being that my maternal grandfather was a sheriff and then a Texas Ranger of all things. He never talked about his cases, but I do think some of that rubbed off on me and my sister. I remember lawmen coming to his house all the time, FBI guys, all kinds of lawmen. I bet that had something to do with my interest. Actually in those days, the adults never talked to the child/adolescent about anything, really. I am glad those days have changed. Salhapatica and I both love to watch the real-life mysteries on TV as well. Regardless, interest or not, I am weak when it comes to my interest in this case. I want to see it to the final conclusion. And people are interesting, aren't they? Even people who haven't committed murder! Oh, well, we are hopefully coming to the end. I am excited for it.
I think that I have mentioned before that my interest stems, I think, from my grandfather and his enjoyment of reading mysteries. I have loved to read all my life and with spending a lot of time with my grandparents when I was young, I just started to read what he was reading.
Arias gets almost a delightful feeling and enjoyment for what she is doing to the Alexander family and to her own.
She feels that they think they are "better" than her. THAT she cannot tolerate and will do everything in her power to prove that she is smarter, nicer and better than them.
With her family, she just doesn't care. They did not give her ALL the support that she felt she deserved in life AND they even called the police on her. Never mind that she grew up in a home with siblings that deserved attention as well.
It is all about HER and you are right, it is me, me, me.
I do not think she has any conscience at all. As long as she gets what she wants, she is happy. It does not matter to her who gets in her way.
Whether she gets the DP or LWOP, she WILL NEVER see the light of day in the free world again. She will be forgotten and that will drive her nuts.
