I have seen a few posts elsewhere that said Juan was not 'forceful' enough, as he was the last time. To me, he had no reason to 'wait out the 2 minutes' or count the stab wounds or any of that. The autopsy photos told the truth the jury needed to be reminded about.
He showed how the autopsy photos showed all that. They know he had to suffer. The defense has done nothing but trash the name and reputation of a good man. He showed that Arias is not remorseful, but even tried to cover her tracks by leaving voice mail asking if he has cashed the checks, and inviting him to an event, knowing he was rotting in his own shower stall and dead as any man can be.
He proved his points well. I have no idea what kind of performance Nurmi might have planned for tomorrow morning, but it won't go far with the jury. They will remember that Juan kept telling them "Look for the evidence" and they will. They will see on which side the evidence falls. Juan even went back to Fonseca's testimony, which some of them may have long forgotten by now.
I hope there is a verdict at least by sometime on Thursday. These jurors have been held hostage so long, they likely already have their minds pretty much made already. I don't think they will need long to check a box on that ballot in the jury deliberation room. They will find no evidence of her alleged child abuse and no proof of abuse from Travis, except for her own words.
They know now that Borderline Personality Disorder is not a 'mental illness' that makes people go around killing other people, especially in such a brutal ambush, and it was an ambush.
I am sure they noticed the many 'objections' by Nurmi and realize it was all in an effort to prevent Juan from showing them evidence. I farther hope, really hope, that one lady 'note taker' is not picked as an alternate! Someone reported that she was taking lots of notes when Juan was doing his closing statements. She would make a good jury foreman. (Is there a word for a lady foreman??)
