That is a good thing because we can hope that the jury is as well.
Thank you for reminding me of the 300 cases over 30 years that Martinez has tried. and, that he is a death qualified prosecutor.
It confirms for me that he knew exactly what was expected of him in his closing.
It confirmed that he knows his job/profession.
He got he job done!
Today, Nurmi will only say the same things but maybe in a different manner.
It will not change that he has not backed up with evidence and the truth in ANY of his mitigating factors.
I hate, absolutely hate, waiting for decisions like this!!!
Going away today to London for a few days BUT....taking my computer with me!!
Nern, I want to go to London!!!! Â You have a wonderful trip. Â It is nice to think of you in London for a few days.
I am in a better mood today. Â I was furious yesterday reading about Nurmi's horrible descriptions during his closing and I felt so glad that the family left the courtroom. Â It does no good getting furious, but that took me over the top. Â Regardless, this is the way it is. Â I am hearing too that Juan didn't do a great job, but I remember in the last trial, while I listened to HLN (never again), the talking heads continually said he was no good at his job. Â I think he has done a remarkable job and I admire his passion for justice. Â I too hate this waiting game, but we have waited for so long anyway, what is a few more days or weeks. Â I understand that if it is life, we will wait a couple of months for the judge to actually sentence her. Â So this is a long thing regardless, I guess. Â I will be so glad when Arias is in prison and all alone with herself. Â
You have a great time, Nern.
Duluth,
You will notice that my plans have changed in later post.
I was getting angry with Nurmi yesterday as well, but then I sat back and just considered the source and all the horrid ploys that the defense (Arias) have used over these 5 months and I stopped listening (or rather reading) about what he was saying. I looked at quick recaps instead and just decided he wasn't worth my time.
I was waiting for Martinez and he did not disappoint me.
Now we must again hear the same drivel today from Nurmi.
Then, finally, this case goes to the jury.
I believe the DP is more of a possibility than  I did before but I am not on the jury.
It is too bad if they come back with life as this will drag on for some more time.
But then, who knows what JSS will do?
I don't have the later post saying your plans have changed but I am sure it will show at some point. I do hope you go to London at some point. That is too too nice.
I got so mad yesterday that I now wish the jury would vote for death. hahahaaa!!!! And I am against the death penalty. I can say with great assurance that I mainly want her to never see the light of day again. Everybody seems to think that if given the choice, the judge won't sentence to to life with possibility of release after 25 years. `
