Lunarscope,
Thank you for being so candid in your comment above.
I have to say that being someone who has experienced personal turmoil in the past and resolving it, I do not have empathy for Arias in any way.
This is a woman who created her own reality many years ago as a defiance against her family and/or friends in order to get what she believed she deserved in life.
As the years went by, she believed her own reality to be the best way for her to move through her life and with no regard for others.
Whatever "disorders" people say she has, she knew right from wrong in all of her interactions with others and consistently took the adverse stance because she felt it benefited her the best way possible.
These were deliberate actions on her part throughout her life.
Turmoil can be devastating for some. It can also be debilitating for some. Of that there is no dispute.
But in that turmoil, there is a sense of morality and for the majority of those affected, that moral code takes precedence and deliberate actions against others is not realized.
Arias made conscious decisions throughout her life and consciously ignored that moral code.
Her arrogance and sense of what she was deserving of in her life made her the "monster" that she is.
She became "trapped" in this reality out of choice.
When she feels cornered, she reacts. When she feels she is not in control and getting what she wants, she reacts.
These reactions culminated into the slaughter of Travis Alexander.
Everything she has said and done since murdering Travis has been to justify her actions and that she is the real victim because she was driven to it.
That is her reality - a reality that she chose many, many years ago.
Because of her choices, it could not help but come back to bite her in the ass.
And it did.
She is now getting what she deserves in her life.
