I am pretty much done with worrying about this issue. As we all know, it doesn't change anything for Arias and that is the upside to the issue.
15 years ago she was married to a felon who also abused her.
We do not know if this marriage, although unconventional, is an abusive one as well.
Granted, some people gravitate to the same partners over and over again, but not all as you pointed out in your example Justice.
If my reasoning is flawed with the outing of this juror to the judge, I accept that but will reiterate that this information was done in judge's chambers NOT in public.
I agree that Martinez should have been more intense in his investigation of all jurors before accepting any one of them.
I get that the 11 other jurors were coming off a very frustrating and trying time when the verdict was announced. I agree that they wanted to say their feelings.
But common sense to me would be to be slightly less candid in their accusations in their immediate interview after leaving the court. They had to know that the results would infuriate so many within the public and why stir things up right away? For what purpose?
Yes, they were told they could discuss anything with anyone, including the media, but taking time to reflect and carefully think about what they wanted to say would have been prudent, in my opinion.
So, that is my position as it stands now.
If information is forthcoming with proof of lying or misconduct by #17, I will rethink my stance, as I should.
For now, I am done with her.
In the big scheme of things, right now I see no reason at all for any of the controversy with the jury and with JSS to affect the outcome for Arias.
She is a convicted murderess of a heinous crime and I believe strongly that she will receive LWOP (natural life) from JSS on April 13th.
The money issues are secondary to the trial and I sincerely hope that whatever comes from the intense investigation, the Alexander family get their restitution from monies already raised and from any future efforts by Arias and her supporters.
I also hope that those responsible for misconduct and illegal activity in this issue are prosecuted to the full extent of the law - whoever they are.

Nern, you are probably are right that it would have been prudent for the jury to not talk about their feelings to the press, but I suspect that the eleven jurors wanted the death penalty for Arias because it was their sense of justice and it didn't happen. I remember one of the jurors in the first trial cried because she felt like Travis didn't get justice because of a mistrial and she felt it so personally. I think these eleven felt it even more personally because they seemed to see through Arias much more than some of the jurors on the first trial. It did sound like those eleven were so disgusted and tired and had tried so hard to get what they considered justice.
Even so, it is over. I admire the eleven myself and think they just were so defeated so early and yet worked at it for days, and I think they felt a horrible loss of justice for Travis. And it wasn't revenge, it was justice they wanted.
At least we can say that Arias won't be able to slaughter another person. I am so grateful for that. And I am now thinking that when people are asked to come to be jurors that they need to be forewarned that a defendant might not actually look like a murderer and might look like a regular businessman or regular everyday mother or whatever. I think the judge needs to be able to tell those people that there is no particular way a murderer looks. From what we have heard from some jurors of both trials, some of these people got an impression immediately and it seems to color their mental or emotional process. So maybe they need a little Murder 101 class before being picked for a jury. Also I am thinking that maybe the prosecutor should have mentioned during trial that the defendant's chair was lowered simply to make the jurors think she was a teensey little person who couldn't hurt anyone. I guess that would not be allowed though. Lots of truths aren't allowed. And I am just being catty here. But the way she has her chair makes her look shorter than Wilmott and she is actually a head taller than Wilmott.
I just watched Arias's secret testimony. What a lying manipulating disgusting creep she is. At least eleven people saw through her lies. She and the defense really push how Bobby Juarez physically abused her (and she financially supported him, let's not forget that), how her parents physically and emotionally abused her, and bless her little pea-picking heart, she is so smart, as a small toddler she saw cocaine and a razor in her parents' bedroom. Just like she did to Travis in the first trial, she continually insinuates how people she has to be around are just scum and treat her miserably and she is just so good and caring and has to put up with so much mistreatment from people she treats so well. And she wants the jury to just forgive those few hours because she has been such a good person all the other hours and years of her life.
I can tell I really need for this to be over because I find her so repulsive. I really will be satisfied that she won't be allowed around innocent victims ever again.
One more thing. If Maria de la Rosa is a death mitigator, why is she still visiting with Arias in the Estrella jail? Arias didn't get the death sentence. At least I read somewhere that she is the only one of the defense team still visiting Arias but I actually can't prove that. It is just something I read somewhere, maybe even here. If so, that doesn't make sense. There is no death penalty.

I too saw this comment and my reaction was that these were two different circumstances.
This trial, #17 was the lone holdout not a member of several.

People should not base any opinions on the appearance of a defendant.
It is well known that defense teams will make their female defendants look like librarians to confuse and influence a jury. They will take unshaven, dishevelled males and clean them up to look like a clean-cut, upstanding men.
In this case, Arias might have appeared a certain way in the courtroom but they jury DID see how she presented herself before her slaughter of Travis right down to the nude pictures!
I watched just a bit of her secret testimony and had to turn it off because everything she was saying was a lying performance and I had seen enough in the last trial for 18 days.
Everyone in her life has done her wrong - right down to her mother who gave birth to her and the rest of her family.
For me, her sole purpose of a secret testimony was because she is a coward and could not face her family, or anyone else for that matter, with the vile lies she was going to tell.
How ludicrous and egocentric of her to think that anyone would believe she, as a very young child, had complete memories of illegal behaviour on the part of her family BUT, she could not remember the attack on Travis and blamed it on a fog.
She continually contradicted herself with her detailed memories down to what drink she had so many years ago but no memory of what she did to Travis with 29 stab wounds, slit throat and gunshot to the head AND THEN cleaning up the scene.
She was a 27 year old woman who acted like a spoiled brat when she committed her crime. Spoiled brats have no regard for anyone in their lives. It is all about them.
But inherent in her is an evilness which allowed her to commit her crime with absolutely no remorse.
All because she did not get what she wanted and felt she deserved from Travis.
I too find Arias to be repulsive as a human being. That was a good choice of words Duluth.
MDLR is a Mitigation Specialist and until sentencing at least, she is a member of the defense team and therefore has access to Arias.
And yes, it has been said by many that MDLR is the only one that has contact with her now that she has all of her restrictions in jail.
It is very noticeable that we hear nothing about Nurmi or Wilmott (also still her attorneys) having any interaction with Arias since the verdict.

Sheriff Joe has been not tweeting for 3 days now, and he normally tweets alot or daily, so Jodi updates are scarce.
Joe removed Jodi's video visits and snacks by charging Jodi with some form of child endangerment, forcing her punishment to accompany Jodi into Prison = layman's terms' cause I don't know about breaking laws in jail with a formal ticket charge.
Only Joe said' Jodi was having 10 Supporter video visitors who were permanently stopped, but at that news release Joe said only MDLR was visiting Jodi' so we assume no visits from her legal team or family, plus no prior Jodi supporters have video visitation permission, so MDLR and no friends, family or defense attorneys.
Jodi should get a video call from her family' if we assume her family attended sentencing hearing, and that goes with Nurmi and or Willmott who can visit in person or by video day or night.
Joe has to appear in court today for something, amd the ACLU have an issue tabled for today or on the 26th, but the 26th is important Joe has a hearing to face the judge for 3 people wanting damages payment' their are 18 months of issues relating to ignoring the same judges court order to stop racial profiling, Joe has cost Arizona no less than 30 million in damages awarded for infractions.
Milke goes to court also on the 26th, for final dismissal of all charges and she could unlikely sue for over 25 years on death row, Milke hired 2 men to kill her little boy = both on death row, and admitted it' to get DP verdict, but her confession was deamed hearsay from a District Attorney that would lie for winning cases, that got Milke from Death row to freedom from jail, on the 26th freedom from maybe parole. I'm unsure.
So Jodi goes to Perryville with child endangerment charges atop of aggravated murder.
MDLR has likely = very likely been fired' she is under contract to represent Jodi up to sentencing on the 13th, and we assume Nurmi and Willmott ignore Jodi, but we don't know because their visits are recorded separately from guests that visit, that we were getting by monthly reports, I do not think that the world is ignoring Jodi = defense team and family' plus she could get a visit from supporter if a new one requested visitation, only 10 were listed as banned' she is not restricted from getting visits.
Mimi reported that Jodi, MDLR and #17 are busted for something' by posting Jodi CEO, MDLR President and #17 board member, take it for what you will' I 100% believe that that's the breakdown, and I would not have said that last night.
Reporter who visited #17's house where her husband answered (request for payment for interview = true or untrue) arrived before the 11 jurors news conference started (was less than 1 hour after hung-verdict) whose names and Facebook addresses were and still are listed on JII !
Alexander family get the wrongful death' freezing of Jodi assets on the 13th, her art dealer had 4 grand that's waiting until the 13th' untouchable, theirs 40 grand told that's also possible, maybe much more, 40% or 50% of all Jodi money is paid into restitution with wrongful death in Arizona, theirs likely money we haven't learned about, the Travis Alexander story = book, will be at Perryville before Jodi, a child endangerer who caused tight restrictions placed on video visitation' that Perryville inmates are anticipating access to.

You made up stories time and time again.
You showed absolute disdain for true victims of Domestic Violence by claiming to be a victim yourself.

You supported the unprofessional experts you presented in your defense.

After breaking the cardinal sin of killing another human being, you continue to break the law while waiting for your sentence.
This will not go unnoticed.
Your current restrictions and why they were imposed speak for themselves.
One of the most pathetic things about you is that you do not even fathom the amount of dislike/hatred/repulsion that is directed at you by everyone.
You align yourself with disreputable people because they are the only ones who seemingly support you.

Brahm Resnik tried to interview #17 before she could have possibly have arrived home after hung-jury. As far as I know anyway, from reading tweets, I'm just trying to support Martinez's giving the Facebook pages paper to reporters' when the 11 jurors were walking into the room for giving their interview' that they gave, the same #17 Facebook proof that was showed to JSS for reason to dismiss #17 !

All they talk about was prosecutorial misconduct--they NEVER mentioned that she was in fact guilty of murdering her child. The elephant in the room. Amazing how America has so much leniency for women (I'm a woman and I say this!). So she got away with murder on a technicality (YES, that is a technicality) and/or by default. This also leaves the State open to a major law suit by Milke. So she had her child murdered, got away with it, AND will be profiting big time.
@ The Arizona misconduct was evident' and justice being blind has it's gives and takes, I don't think wrongful imprisonment will be tried' but who knows!
Shariff Joe filed a "PV CCED" report that involves the child endangerment charge against Jodi that I mentioned above' I do not have a clue what PV - Parole Violation - maybe, or the rest!
Responding to below I agree Nerm 100% but equally desire the Book with all the new found information that the Alexander family are exposing' and the Hughes, it will expose the injustices and courts will rewrite victims rights!

With all of the discussions that we are having (good discussions mind you) about juries, #17, MDLR, money issues and other seemingly misconduct perpetrated, I just felt that the REAL perpetrator of all of this is using smoke and mirrors once again.
I want her gone and forgotten and all of her tactics ignored.
She has sealed her own fate.
But importantly, the reason for all of the discussions and comments is the slaughter of Travis Alexander.
I do not want to remember him with all of his wounds and the pain and suffering he endured at the hands of Arias.
He will live on in the hearts of so many.
That is what is important.
I anxiously await April 13th.

Great post, Nern. Really good. I will just re-emphasize how Arias and her experts re-slaughtered Travis time and again, for years, in a courtroom. Now that it is pretty much coming to an end, I find that for me I am becoming so outraged AGAIN at the re-slaughter of him by her lies and her experts' lies. I don't know if re-slaughter is a word, but in this case, it can be used. I don't remember how Lunarscope said it recently but that was how it should be said. If you can remember, Lunarscope, please post it again and I will try to remember it. It was something about how he was killed over and over in the court. As a matter of fact, I will write it out on a notecard and tape it on the wall above my computer. I guess I could go through the last few weeks of this blog and find it.
I hope I am going to be able to forget this shortly after April 13, but I know me. I know I will hang on to the bitter end and I can't help myself. I scream for justice.
Yet once again, I have to say I so look forward to seeing the butcher in her stripes on April 13. I will get pleasure from that. And maybe she will have shackles on too.
Nern, one thing I will say about your comment that she was a coward by wanting to testify to a closed court because she didn't want her family to hear what she said about them. I agree that she is a lying coward, but I don't think for a minute she cares one way or another if she should hurt her family's feelings by her lies. I suspect the crap she spewed about her parents was just another ploy created by her, her defense, and her experts to hopefully color just one person's mind to vote against the death penalty. I seriously don't think it bothers her to tell what I consider lies about how horrible her parents were to her. And I am sure her parents have been used to her abuse of them for most of her life.
