Today the new jury heard the coded messages that Jodi Arias tried to smuggle out of jail in two magazines to convince Matthew McCartney to lie for her and say he saw bruises on her neck. So that wasn’t the “contraband” the judge ruled Martinez couldn’t bring up in the retrial.

Martinez was able to get the messages in through Dr. Geffner’s testimony. In the first trial, he brought it up during the cross examination of Arias.

Martinez showed him the messages and asked if he this would affect the PTSD test he gave Arias.

But Geffner wouldn’t be swayed. He says he has no idea what this is, who this is to, who wrote it, so it would not affect his opinion.

Martinez knew Geffner wouldn’t change his diagnosis but he got it in front of the jurors so now they know Arias will go to great lengths to manipulate people into believing and repeating her lies.

The Arias camp tweeted from the courtroom that Martinez and the judge know these messages were written by a lawyer about another case. But if that were true, Wilmott and Nurmi would be objecting and the judge would not allow false information she supposedly knows is false.

The jury questions and answers were interesting to me. This tells me that this jury knows Jodi Arias is lying about the pedophilia and the abuse because it doesn't make sense to them. And that the PTSD diagnosis is a sham.

The motion will be denied as the others were. McGee has used his full name on the Jodi Arias is Innocent Site where he has posted repeatedly that he was a friend of Travis Alexander, that he never saw him hit a woman and he was going to testify at her appeal and get her out of jail. This proves he is lying about being afraid to testify and is just hiding behind the affidavit to avoid being exposed as a liar on the stand by Martinez. His posts prove he was lying in his affidavit when he reported seeing Alexander yell at, curse at and physically attack Deanna Reid and proves that he has a motive to lie. Martinez is right. Geffner's only purpose on the stand is to smear the reputation of the victim, which shows the convicted murderess has no remorse and no mitigation factors.

Breaking News

Jodi Arias is not going to testify. Juan does not want her testimony stricken and the judge will not strike her testimony. Martinez plans on using the inconsistencies in her testimony from the last trial to this retrial.

The defense has rested. I am relieved that we won’t have to hear any more lies. She got in her faked remorse and web of lies about her abusive childhood and got out of Martinez cross examining her. She apparently doesn’t want to talk about the murder. Afterall she wasn’t herself that day. LOL

The state’s rebuttal case begins.

Deanna Reid and the bishop are scheduled to testify for the state today to rebut what Marc McGee said in his affidavit and if enough time Abe Abdehaldi will also testify.

Nurmi tried to keep Abe Abdehaldi from testifying saying he hasn’t had a chance to interview him.  Martinez says Abdehaldi will testify to the letter Arias claims she sent him and “the magic underwear” comment he made on Dr. Drew. Nurmi said he didn’t want Abdehaldi to testify to anything sexual, just the letter. The judge limited the testimony and gave Nurmi an hour to interview Abdehaldi.

Juan Martinez not only woke the jurors up after Wilmot put them to sleep on cross of Abe Abdhaldi.

But he injected some humor into the courtroom.

He asked Abe if this was a homing pidgeon email that Arias supposedly sent him without an email address.

Right there it proves Arias made up the email she claimed Travis forced her to write to Abe, just like she fabricated the emails and voice mails to Alexander after murdering him, wrote the Ninja letter to Alexander family, like she and Mat McCartney forged the pedophile letters. She is so devious and crafty but she always gets caught by the Mighty Mouse Martinez.

I think the important points Martinez made with the testimony of Abe Abdehaldi were:

1- Jodi Arias is promiscuous and not the good little Mormon girl who was led astray by the Big Bad Mormon. She went to dinner with a man 17 years her senior and allowed him to put his hands down her pants as they made out after she was baptized Mormon and claimed she was not into premarital sex and Travis Alexander pushed the sex and she went along with it.

2- Jodi Arias was never serious about the Mormon religion but only got baptized so Alexander would marry her. She told Abe she was "dabbling in Mormonism" after she was baptized which showed she did not take the religion seriously.

3- Jodi Arias was obsessed with Travis Alexander from the day they met. She went out with Abe around Christmas time of 2006 and called Abe right after their only date and makeout session that she was back with her old boyfriend, Travis Alexander. But she testified Travis and she didn't start dating until Feb. 2007. She told Abe in December 2006 she was dating Travis Alexander on the downlow and they would make it official soon. Around Christmas time, Arias showed up uninvited at a party at Alexander's house and announced she was his girlfriend and Travis was there with another woman and told her she was not his girlfriend and asked her to leave. She left and crawled through the doggy door in the middle of the night and slept under his Christmas tree. Abe said when she would call him and complain about Travis Alexander not committing to her, he would tell her to date other guys.

4- Jodi Arias used other guys to try to make Alexander jealous. She told Travis about a date she had with Abe Abdelhaldi a year and a half after the date to make him jealous. It made Abdehaldi angry that she was using him and he ended their friendship.

5- The email Arias showed in court that she claimed she sent to Abe telling him she couldn't be his friend was never sent but just made up to make it look like she was giving up all her male friends for him and wanted him to give up all his female friends for her. Mainly Deanna Reid.

In cross examination, Wilmott tried to make Abe out to be a dirty old man who was chasing a pretty young girl and then used her to promote himself and his business. It didn't work.

I saw Abdehaldi when Dr. Drew had him on his show many times during the trial because he knew Arias and was their resource to how she behaved. He never ever tried to promote himself or his business. He just answered questions about Arias. He was also a male on a predominantly female panel so they got a male point of view along with Dr. Drew and Attorney Mark Eiglarsh.

Deanna Reid testified that she never met Marc McGee and that Travis Alexander never verbally and physically attacking her on Jan. 18, 2001 or December 2001 or any time.

"The incident never happened," Reid testified.

Proof:

1- Reid says she never met McGee but knows his name.

2- She was in Costa Rica from June 2000 to November 2001 on an LDS Church mission. Alexander and Reid dated for two months before she left, wrote letters and then broke up when he said he was dating someone else.

3- She said Alexander wasn't even living at the bishop's house when she returned from her mission. Bishop Parker told Reid Alexander moved out in Aug 2000.

Reid got feisty when Wilmott said Reid wasn't truthful in a 2011 interview. Reid said she was always truthful.

When Wilmott acused Reid of being misleading, Reid snapped, "You are the only one who is misleading."

Wilmott gave Reid a transcript and asked her to read her answer to a question: "Would it surprise you to know Jodi Arias wasn't the only one having sex with."

Reid insisted they play the audio recording since the transcript is what someone said she said and the audio would tell what she really said. Wilmott threw a fit and the judge ordered Reid to answer the questions. Reid balked and the judge called a recess until 1:30 pm tomorrow which I am sure didn't make Reid happy. She was hoping to get out of Dodge as fast as possible since I am sure she does not want to spend any more time being stared down by Alexander's murderess than she has to.

It is obvious that Judge Stephens is pampering Jodi Arias for fear of a mistrial or reversal of her sentence. She allows the defense witnesses to fight with Martinez and refuse to answer the questions but bawls out Reid when she does it.

She allowed defense witnesses to read sexual text messages from Travis Alexander and to say he was manipulative but Abe Abdehaldi was not allowed to say Jodi Arias told him there was "magic in her underwear" and that she manipulated Travis Alexander.

If I were a juror, I would believe a flesh and blood witness who has facts to back her claim over a coward who won't reveal his name and refuses to take the stand to be examined and cross examined but hides behind a piece of paper.

Plus the Bishop is going to back up Reid's testimony and prove McGee is also lying about the porn.

I hope she gets coaching on having a better attitude, she was better in the last trial, but Martinez did get her to confirm no Travis aggression, that contradicted affidaviter #1's BS!

Trial resumes 1:30 and jury was told that court on Thursday is unlikely, Bishop (I understood it was the Bishops wife) is next witness!

Lying is a sin in our religion. To be called a liar is like being called a sinner. Deanna had to take time away from her job and home because Marc McGee told a lie about her and Travis and now she has to put up with Wilmott turning the tables and accusing her of lying. I don't believe Deanna Reid lied in her 2011 interview with the defense. I believe she didn't tell them she had sex with Alexander because she believes as I do her sex life is none of their business. She said on the stand Alexander joked about being a virgin because he believed his sex life was private. She also admitted they had sex for a year after dating for two years. But that they confessed to their bishops, repented and stopped having sex and quit dating because she wanted marriage and he didn't.

I also don't blame Reid for insisting that the defense play the audio of her voice because the defense could have got someone to type that she said what she didn't say on a transcript. Arias is known for altering documents.

Abe Abdehaldi is the first witness to testify that Arias was upset that Travis Alexander wouldn't commit to her and he told her Alexander wasn't as in to her as she was to him and she should date other men. He also pointed out that he had one date with her and a year and a half later she uses it to make Travis Alexander jealous and made up that bogus email she claimed was sent to Abdehaldi because the email did not have Abdehaldi's email address on it.

I know juries may be turned off by hostile witnesses and believe like you did that Reid had lied but maybe it will turn out that the defense tricked her into saying what she did by the questions they asked like they did Sky Hughes. Nurmi sent Sky Hughes an email saying a handwriting expert had verified that letters written by Travis Alexander proved he was a pedophile and they thought she should know. Being honest herself, it never occurred to Sky that an attorney would lie so she believed him. She responded: "I knew he had issues but I never knew this was one of them. What ages did he prefer?"

Gloating Nurmi brought this up in an evidentiary hearing in which he was questioning Chris Hughes, Sky's husband, about a conversation he had with Gus Searcy. He showed Hughes the forged pedophile letters and Hughes said "the letters are fake and you know they are fake." With a smirk, Nurmi said, "Your wife didn't think they were fake." Hughes said that was because Nurmi had lied to her and said an expert proved the handwriting was Alexanders. Nurmi turned it on Hughes and said: "Did the prosecutor tell you they were forgeries?" This was back in 2013 during the murder trial when Nurmi was trying to prove Martinez told Hughes to convince Gus Searcy not to testify for the defense. Hughes said Searcy wanted to testify for the prosecution and was angry because they didn't call him back. Searcy confirmed this to HLN after he testified. He said he had information that would either clear or convict Jodi Arias and Martinez would not call him back. Searcy claimed Arias called him the night of the murder and told him Alexander was dead. That was a lie. She called him the night Daniel Freeman called her and told her the police found Alexander's body. Searcy saw the trial as a way to get his 15 minutes of fame and wanted to testify. When the prosecutor wouldn't call him back, he called the defense and was furious because neither one of them asked him about the phone call because they knew he got the dates mixed up.

Reid knows the defense is going to try to make her out a liar and a battered woman who was trying to protect her reputation and Alexander's after his death. The bishop will back up her testimony.

The bishop's wife has been on the state's rebuttal witness list for months. But the bishop and Deanna were added to the state's witness list last week after Marc McGee named them in his affidavit. The bishop will testify that Alexander wasn't even living at his home in 2000 when there was porn on the computer but McGee was. McGee was looking at porn and blamed it on Alexander. McGee loves the limelight and after Arias was convicted, he went to the Jodi Arias is Innocent site to brag that he knew Alexander and said he never saw him beat a woman but he talked down to them so he can see why she said she was emotionally abused. He also bragged that he was going to testify at her appeal and get her out of jail.

McGee told Geffner that he knew Deanna Reid and knew the girl was her. Now she testified that she didn't know him, I bet McGee is now changing his story again and saying, "Now, I remember it wasn't Deanna Reid. It was the other girl he was dating. But I saw Travis Alexander beating a woman." In the affidavit, McGee said the beating took place in January 2001 and he remembered the date clearly because his wife wrote about it in her diary. Where is that diary entry to prove what he saying? Then when Geffner told him Reid was in Costa Rica on a mission until November 2001, McGee sent an email to the defense saying he had the date wrong. It was December 2001. Of course, Wilmott and Nurmi know he is lying and they are suborning perjury but they do it anyway. I hope Martinez can show the jury the posts McGee made on social media to prove he had a motive to lie. He wanted to brag that he knew Alexander and that he was going to get Arias out of jail with his testimony.

I know juries may be turned off by hostile witnesses and believe like you did that Reid had lied but maybe it will turn out that the defense tricked her into saying what she did by the questions they asked like they did Sky Hughes. Nurmi sent Sky Hughes an email saying a handwriting expert had verified that letters written by Travis Alexander proved he was a pedophile and they thought she should know. Being honest herself, it never occurred to Sky that an attorney would lie so she believed him. She responded: "I knew he had issues but I never knew this was one of them. What ages did he prefer?"

Gloating Nurmi brought this up in an evidentiary hearing in which he was questioning Chris Hughes, Sky's husband, about a conversation he had with Gus Searcy. He showed Hughes the forged pedophile letters and Hughes said "the letters are fake and you know they are fake." With a smirk, Nurmi said, "Your wife didn't think they were fake." Hughes said that was because Nurmi had lied to her and said an expert proved the handwriting was Alexanders. Nurmi turned it on Hughes and said: "Did the prosecutor tell you they were forgeries?" This was back in 2013 during the murder trial when Nurmi was trying to prove Martinez told Hughes to convince Gus Searcy not to testify for the defense. Hughes said Searcy wanted to testify for the prosecution and was angry because they didn't call him back. Searcy confirmed this to HLN after he testified. He said he had information that would either clear or convict Jodi Arias and Martinez would not call him back. Searcy claimed Arias called him the night of the murder and told him Alexander was dead. That was a lie. She called him the night Daniel Freeman called her and told her the police found Alexander's body. Searcy saw the trial as a way to get his 15 minutes of fame and wanted to testify. When the prosecutor wouldn't call him back, he called the defense and was furious because neither one of them asked him about the phone call because they knew he got the dates mixed up.

Reid knows the defense is going to try to make her out a liar and a battered woman who was trying to protect her reputation and Alexander's after his death. The bishop will back up her testimony.

The bishop's wife has been on the state's rebuttal witness list for months. But the bishop and Deanna were added to the state's witness list last week after Marc McGee named them in his affidavit. The bishop will testify that Alexander wasn't even living at his home in 2000 when there was porn on the computer but McGee was. McGee was looking at porn and blamed it on Alexander. McGee loves the limelight and after Arias was convicted, he went to the Jodi Arias is Innocent site to brag that he knew Alexander and said he never saw him beat a woman but he talked down to them so he can see why she said she was emotionally abused. He also bragged that he was going to testify at her appeal and get her out of jail.

McGee told Geffner that he knew Deanna Reid and knew the girl was her. Now she testified that she didn't know him, I bet McGee is now changing his story again and saying, "Now, I remember it wasn't Deanna Reid. It was the other girl he was dating. But I saw Travis Alexander beating a woman." In the affidavit, McGee said the beating took place in January 2001 and he remembered the date clearly because his wife wrote about it in her diary. Where is that diary entry to prove what he saying? Then when Geffner told him Reid was in Costa Rica on a mission until November 2001, McGee sent an email to the defense saying he had the date wrong. It was December 2001. Of course, Wilmott and Nurmi know he is lying and they are suborning perjury but they do it anyway. I hope Martinez can show the jury the posts McGee made on social media to prove he had a motive to lie. He wanted to brag that he knew Alexander and that he was going to get Arias out of jail with his testimony.

Some I knew' Wow thanks for putting it all together, plus the Mormon perspective, I once rented a barn/apartment from a great Morman and family, (I was 19) in Hawaiian Garden California, over 10 kids mostly a year apart with a married oldest child also renting an adjoining apartment, on church day they would dawn their garments for travel, beyond that I just saw them as religious, my only bad experience was when my German Sheppard ate one of their Chickens! Landlord even supplied me free firewood (wooden pallats) and I was allowed Swimming Pool use' when it was unused, he owned over an acre!

The jury questions and answers were interesting to me. This tells me that this jury knows Jodi Arias is lying about the pedophilia and the abuse because it doesn't make sense to them. And that the PTSD diagnosis is a sham.

Nern and Duluth, I hope you find the new forum. Nurmi finally did file the motion 1/25 for a mistrial based on prosecutorial misconduct. He is upset because Martinez disclosed Marc McGee's name in open court three times and he accused Dr. Geffner of "smearing" the victim Travis Alexander.

The motion will be denied as the others were. McGee has used his full name on the Jodi Arias is Innocent Site where he has posted repeatedly that he was a friend of Travis Alexander, that he never saw him hit a woman and he was going to testify at her appeal and get her out of jail. This proves he is lying about being afraid to testify and is just hiding behind the affidavit to avoid being exposed as a liar on the stand by Martinez. His posts prove he was lying in his affidavit when he reported seeing Alexander yell at, curse at and physically attack Deanna Reid and proves that he has a motive to lie. Martinez is right. Geffner's only purpose on the stand is to smear the reputation of the victim, which shows the convicted murderess has no remorse and no mitigation factors.

I edited out a long article (above' second from top) and as Observer said a link would have been sufficient, but rest assured, theirs no issue with long comments that are not cut from news stories, DrR posted to post anything' and board crashed when updating, but I plan on adhering to Observers wishes, protecting the board is protecting our thoughts and experiences!
