Martinez came in like a wrecking ball and proved that Dr. Giggles was unprofessional and unethical to laugh, giggle, smile and trash the opponent's psychologist and that his testing was invalid and then Wilmott gets up and Dr. Giggles goes right back to trashing Alexander, the Hughes, Dr. DeMarte and anyone else who says Arias is the predator and Alexander the victim.
I don't see why Dr. L. Miccio-Fonseca needs to repeat that Jodi Arias wanted love and Travis Alexander wanted sex and unrequited love leads to homicide. Or why Smith needs to get on the stand again and say there was porn on Alexander's computer.
Does the jury really care if Alexander had porn on his computer, had sex with women, joked that he was a 30 year old virgin and lost his temple recommend?
The man lost his life when the woman Geffner is claiming is a victim stabbed him 29 times, slashed his throat and shot him in the head.
That's why the jury is here. Not to pass judgment on a dead man but to decide if the woman at the defense table laughing and whispering to her team should live or die for the horrific crime she committed.
Arias already decided he should die because if she couldn't have him no one else can.
She made sure she seduced him so she was the last woman to have sex with him and then she made him suffer and gave him the death penalty.
Now she thinks trashing him to the jury is going to convince them to spare her life.
That's because even after she murdered him, she is still obsessed with Travis Alexander and that's all she can think about.

Observer, I hope the jury knows they are to consider HER slaughter of Travis and that Travis is not the one on trial. If she is laughing and whispering at the defense table, I am hoping the jury can see what she is really like. That reminds me of the Casey Anthony thing. She acted all sad and defeated during testimony but when the jury was out, she was laughing it up, having a good old time. And look what that stupid jury did. It is scary sometimes. Seriously.

After today's brilliant questioning of Geffner by Martinez and how he absolutely tore apart Geffner's testimony, I have no idea why the defense (Arias) would put their other witnesses on the stand only to have the same results happen.
Geffner's laughing, I don't remembers, I don't knows, his direct insults of DeMarte as a professional and his admitting to not being thorough in his assessment of Arias by interviewing the Hughes, Lisa AND by picking and choosing how he would administer tests - all led to his complete lack of credibility as a defense expert.
Martinez systematically uncovered his lack of ethics in his profession and had him fumbling for answers. No amount of damage control by Wilmott could undo the obvious.
Although I do not know why these witnesses would want to return, I understand why (I guess) the defense (Arias) would have them come back. What else can they do but to try and convince the jury that their experts are sound in their opinions? That, and if they do not call them, Arias will try to take both Nurmi and Wilmott to the cleaners for not completing her sur-rebuttal case.
I am not in the least worried about the jury. We here in this forum are reasonable people and laymen and even we can see the obvious bias with the defense's (Arias') witnesses and their total inconsistencies/lies in their testimonies. There are 12 committed and ordinary people on the jury and I have no doubt that they too see what we see.

The jury pool are local and in the least know how much money was wasted during the first trial by Jodi's defense, plus their ongoing expense assumption, Travis was an upstanding Arizonian citizen slaughtered by a Californian tramp!

They WILL KNOW it was premeditated. ...
They are given the written law of First Degree Murder.
In most states, first-degree murder is defined as an unlawful killing that is both willful and PREMEDITATED,meaning that it was committed after planning or "lying in wait" for the victim. Premeditation DOES NOT necessarily mean weeks of planning.
The need for deliberation and premeditation does not mean that the perpetrator must contemplate at length or plan far ahead of the murder. Time enough to form the conscious intent to kill and then act on it after enough time for a reasonable person to second guess the decision typically suffices. Meaning, Premeditation can occur in minutes."

I like the way Robet D. Hare, PhD describes psychopaths near the end of his book. He calls them "human preditators". Their prey is their intended victim. Doesn't that describe premeditation or "lying in wait"? That is precisely what Arias did to Travis...waited for him to get in his most vulnerable possible position, naked and wet in his shower, and then she literally ambushed the man.

I used to believe Beth Karas was the most accurate of the reporters. But she wasn't accurate in an interview with Jane Velez Mitchell on Mitchell's new internet page. Karas said that Martinez had the opportunity on the rebuttal case to bring in witnesses about the premeditation because in mitigation he can talk about anything. That is incorrect because the judge and Nurmi both stopped Martinez if he didn't directly rebut what the defense witnesses said in his rebuttal case.
Karas also said that Martinez didn't present any witnesses or evidence on premeditation except he may have brought in a witness from the store where Arias bought the gas can. In his case in chief, Martinez presented the same witnesses in this retrial as he did in the murder trial except for Ryan Byrnes and Mimi Hall. This jury heard from Dr. Horne, Flores, the Yreka detective who investigated the burglary at Arias grandparents home where the .25 caliber gun she used to shoot Alexander was stolen, the rental car agent who rented her the car as a blonde and the Wal-Mart employee who testified she didn't return the gas can. All of this spells premeditation.
When Flores was on the stand, Martinez also read the transcript of the first trial where Daryl Brewer testified that she called him a week before the murder and asked to borrow two gas cans, and the transcript of Ryan Byrnes testifying she called him a week before the murder and asked him she could come visit him in Salt Lake City, Utah, and that when she showed up 20 hours after she was expected they grinded and kissed. Martinez also showed a video of Flores interrogation of Arias on videos and in a phone call.

I don't follow Beth Karas. I used to have confidence in her reporting, but now it seems she is just not into the case and things she 'reports' now are often not credible. its almost like she's not as 'hands-on' as she used to be and too many of her opinions are not well founded. She's lackiing the credibility she once had.
That is my opinion.

The Surrebutal case will begin. Lunarscope, thanks for all the trouble you went to to try to get us on Brad's boards. I am not on Facebook but I registered on Yuku last week but have not been approved by the administrator. They told me the screen name Observer was unavailable so I used another screen name and said I agreed with the Just Da Truth blogs and wished to post on the Jodi Arias retrial board. It is okay because the retrial is almost over and I don't have enough time or energy to write on two different blogs. As the trial winds down, I have less and less to say that hasn't already been said.

I find Jodi a island of no support, a girl who does have charm enough (outer) to entice nutcase internet supporters who have no idea what Jodi stands for! Her family and defense team are just going thru the motions with the desire of having authorities restrict Jodi's violence.
I'm also interested in the underdog (undefendable = deceased) Travis' knowing that those who share his faith will persistently defend with vigor against the internet trolls who actually argue due to religious prejudices or anti-american agendas, So easily I defend 'the home of the free' and from my male Catholic perspective' fight the internet fight Travis cannot without sharing his religious beliefs or perspective' that's my individuality that those who share his faith and fight for him on internet do!
Jodi is the Barabbas criminal traded for for Jesus and Jodi is that uniquely friendless, I also have empathy for the Alexander family thru this ordeal that followed their loss!
I've said all this because on JDT Yuku we will review the days events from this trial including all white noise information released to better understand the case, It will take months of blogging to resolve our questions! We of course will have stronger feelings for Martinez than the defense, but no appeal fear will prevail!

Justice and Observer,
I like your opinions and agree.
I felt during the first trial that of all the "talking heads", Beth Karas was the most credible and professional in her reporting.
Since she left HLN to move forward, on her own, with her website and forums, I too feel that she is not putting a lot of thought into her comments as she is not following the Arias trial to the degree that she was.
I posted from the Juan Martinez Prosecutor Support Page in direct response to Karas saying that she felt the defense (Arias) had the upper hand. She stated this because Martinez had not brought forward evidence of the premeditation of the crime.
I saw the posting for the video with Beth Karas but after disagreeing with her on the above issue and a couple of others in the past, I have decided that following her at this time is not for me. I continue to have a respect for Karas but in this particular case, I do not think she is as invested in it as she once was.
Couple of comments.....
Calling another professional's statement "asinine", stating more than once that this other professional is unethical and wrong in her opinions were bad enough...
But when Geffner stated that interviewing Mormons was "useless" I was appalled.
He blatantly displayed a unprofessional, biased, prejudiced and IGNORANT opinion.
He successfully discredited himself as an expert and should be looking for another job!
I have read what has been posted in the secret transcripts so far and it is just more of the same lies and embellishment from Arias as to her importance.
She says that she has received "thousands and thousands" of pieces of mail, some being supportive and many being threatening.
She even says she heard that one of Travis' friends wanted to shoot her between her eyes.
She also said that although access to her while in jail is limited, people can still get in.
After 16 months, no matter what she says, good or bad, she upsets people.
She also had the gall to interrupt the judge.
Then there is MDLR!
She talks at length of a stranger coming into the jail claiming to be Arias' lawyer and wanting to see her.
To top it off, while giving this information, she shows her continued lack of respect for the court and her unprofessionalism by referring to those present as "you guys".
This matter was held in the judge's chambers with all attorneys present. She referred to them as if she was talking to someone in a casual conversation or someone she met on the street.
The most interesting thing that came forward out of these transcripts so far is that Juan is fully aware of all the tweeting by the defense!
The defense (Arias) continue to underestimate Martinez.
Nurmi also made reference to things that he had read on Twitter but this came as no surprise.
I look forward to the rest of the transcripts.
