RE: End is Near Hopefully - NERN - 03-04-2015 Duluth - please say hi to Sal for me as well. You can tell her that she is probably the smartest one in this bunch here in this forum. She stepped back and is probably not as nuts - as me anyway - as we wait. RE: End is Near Hopefully - Lunarscope - 03-04-2015 That was the son of Sam announcement I wanted to hear, question thou' if he was in the locked room hearing' was his upcoming lawsuit the reason for that particular hearing this afternoon, just wondering because my last post was when reason for that closed door court hearing was being pondered, it was really only important at time that doors were closed! I knew their was plan for wrongful death suit after verdict, but get antzy not knowing how progression works. Has that attorney been there for all deliberation days' or just today? RE: End is Near Hopefully - duluth45 - 03-04-2015 Dammit. They are done for the day. People. What is happening? What is going on? I hope hope hope they are really deliberating. I hope hope hope they wake up to the REALITY that Arias is a horrible manipulating lying slaughterer, and open their eyes. hahahaaaaa, Nern. I will tell her. She will be so tickled. I suspect she is so sick of me calling her at least 6 times a day. But then she calls me maybe 7 times a day. This is just how we are. We can't help it. We so much want justice for Travis, which you understand. She is so busy with her caretaking duties she had to opt out of blogging with us but never fear, she is still involved just as much as you and I are. We desperately want justice in this case. RE: End is Near Hopefully - NERN - 03-05-2015 Given all that went on yesterday, I think it is a really good sign that today went without a hitch. I think the jury is just trying to do their job the very best that they can and if it takes time, it takes time. Of course, that is not saying that the waiting is driving me around the bend! I cannot imagine how hard it is on the Alexander family. RE: End is Near Hopefully - Observer - 03-05-2015 On the Gold Patrol spreecast, Attorney Jeff Gold had a new take on what happened today. He thinks the judge and attorneys may have met with the jurors and answered questions. He said Martinez came out of the courtroom smiling and smiling again as he talked to Stephen Alexander. He also interviewed Sky Hughes who said Jodi tried to turn Travis against Sky and Chris and Sky and Chris against Travis and that's why the email. She said she didn't want Jodi to be the killer because Jodi was someone he had loved and trusted and protected as opposed to a stranger who broke into his house. It was heartbreaking how Sky broke down and sobbed when she was asked how she felt when Nurmi used her emails against Travis. http://www.spreecast.com/events/the-gold-patrol-sky-hughes-tells-all RE: End is Near Hopefully - Lunarscope - 03-05-2015 I'll start with a joke' these post are in order! BCH said - Very clever!...Alas, the idea of JAA being loose and armed with a gun in the courtroom is WAY too scary, and she'd likely shoot many more people in the court room before chickening out on herself!... Slim said' How about this? While seated alone at the defendant's table, during yet another seemingly endless sidebar via judge and attorneys, JAA's bizaare manner of drinking from a cup finally catches up to her. She spills her entire water glass onto the shock contraint device she is wearing, which causes a freak accident that rapidly electrocutes her!...Video tape in the courtroom of the electrocution subsequently reveals that Nurmi no only remains standing by the judge, but he's holding back Wilmott so she cannot render aid to JAA!... Then Liberty said' There have been 5 hung juries in DP phase of cases in Maricopa County since 2002. In 3 of those the new jury gave death. In one case the state didn't request a new jury and one case (Christopher Lamar), two juries reached a hung decision. Therefore, I think the odds are she will get the DP. UNLESS, Jennifer Willmott is able to save her once again, IMHO. For the post above 'to me' Nurmi is worst than any clients he ever met, and I hope this case results in DP to end his career, If Jodi gets life Nurmi will still charge near $200.00 an hour' for private practice because that's what Arizona's paid him to defend Jodi! And I wish I could post this on hashtag twitter; Whomever wrote this is incorrect regarding appeal issues and a LWPoP/LWPoP25 sentences. Jodi only gets an automatic appeal and taxpayer funding for that automatic appeal if she's sentenced to death. If she isn't sentenced to death, she is completely responsible for her own appeals. I agree with Victorious on this too - if she gets LWOP, the state is done paying for her defense. Only the DP gives her more state funded lawyers - for a limited time. To my understanding Jodi gets a appeal attorney free only if DP! Then the appellate attorney presents appeal issues to Arizona Supreme Court requesting a hearing with jury for JSS to adjudicate, if denied that same appeal issues can be advanced to the USSC if denied Jodi must pay all attorneys cost for any appeals thenceforth! All appeals are just a petition for a hearing and JSS can answer petition denying or accepting appeal by line-item resolve! RE: End is Near Hopefully - Lunarscope - 03-05-2015 JustDaTruth Wrote:Jodi's wrongful conviction' lunarscope Wrote:Ted Bundy had a victim in his car incapacitated and ready to slaughter and let her go, when asked why she was different' and not killed, Ted said it had been raining and he did not want to get mud on his shoes! RE: End is Near Hopefully - NERN - 03-05-2015 Unfortunately, Ted Bundy WAS a serial killer. For too many, that makes him different from someone like Arias who only killed once. IMO, one killing is enough. The horrendous cruel manner in which Arias slaughtered Travis is just as heinous as Bundy's killings. I cannot live my life always thinking "doom and gloom" and therefore my faith in this jury as they deliberate. I cannot fathom being on the jury in a case like this. Sitting here very comfortable in my home, with my opinions, makes it easy for me to say what I would do if I was in their shoes. Sitting in the deliberation room is far different as part of a monumental decision before me and the others. Whatever they decide, DP, Life or hung, as long as they can live with themselves when this is all over is important to me. Besides, Arias will be gone - one way or another. Just watched The Gold Patrol from last night. I understand that the Hughes want to get out there that Travis was an exceptional human being and not what has been portrayed throughout this trial. I applaud that. But I find that these Spreecasts are no different from any other media interview. They all delve into the emotional arena and invariably the guest gets upset at some point. This is taking advantage, in my book, of the guest to promote, to a certain degree, the interview. We are all emotionally involved in this case - that is a fact. I feel that interviews should be positive and this one was, by and large, but still it played on the emotional attachment of the guest. I have trouble with this and it is why I do not normally watch interviews such as these. I guess if the guest is OK with it, then so be it, but I do not like taking advantage just for an interview that goes viral. Just my humble opinion. RE: End is Near Hopefully - Justice - 03-05-2015 I wish it could ALWAYS be made very clear to juries that 'no criminal history' is just that. It does not say 'no criminal conviction' and neither does it say 'no criminal record' nor 'no criminal rap sheet'. According to testimony, she does have a criminal HISTORY. Stalking, sneaking into someone's home, hacking into Travis personal accounts, and so much. She does have a criminal past... a criminal mindset and history. ALERT: Now all over Juan Martinez Prosecutor Support Page: Jury has reached a verdict. To be announced at 9:30. (I'm on Eastern time and that will be at 11:30 my time.) It will be live streamed and on TV. RE: End is Near Hopefully - NERN - 03-05-2015 OMG - finally! |
