Took me awhile to figure out that Dr. K. would not just let this forum go so I began searching and lo and behold, I found you all again!

I was wrong - there, I said it. Arias will not testify!

I cannot say I am sorry for this because I was not looking forward to more long, long days with her and her lies. We see who she is as I believe that the jury does as well and her lies and drivel would just prolong the trial with the same result.

I believe that she refused to testify for a couple of reasons:
1. She did not want to be decimated by Martinez on the stand as were her so-called witnesses through their affidavits and her so-called experts.
2. She could not face her family, face-to-face and in open court after the accusations she made against them of extreme child abuse and their unsubstantiated drug abuse.

If I were on the jury, I would immediately want to know what she was hiding and her entire testimony would be very suspect.

We all know where he stands with regard to Arias. He made this perfectly clear while testifying. He did well.

I think that Arias used Abe for a couple of reasons too:
1. To make Travis jealous
2. To explore the possibility of a relationship with him (setting up the man in the wings which is her pattern) because he was higher up on the hierarchy with PPL than Travis and could give her what she wants in life.

I absolutely agree that she was offended greatly by the questions asked and the implication that she was a liar and she reacted. I believe she is a devout Mormon and to be accused of committing a sin to defend Travis was once again a terrible attack by the defense (Arias).
We know that Arias hates this woman because she had Travis' heart, first romantically and then through a dear friendship, something that Arias never had with Travis. Arias was the "booty call" for Travis and could never win his heart. This hatred for Deanna manifested itself in the questions that were asked and probably for a brief moment, Arias felt "got her" when Deanna reacted.
I do not think this hurt Deanna's testimony in the least, but rather showed the honest character of Reid and once again the depths of inhumanity that the defense (Arias) continue to go to.

To not strike Arias testimony shows that Martinez has enough ammunition from her testimony in the first trial to bury her. Had he stricken it, he could not use anything from the first trial. Brilliant move on his part!

I also liked when Martinez challenged Geffner regarding Arias having learned so much from the first trial and used it to "fake" and "lie" on the tests he administered. Geffner said it would be very hard to do so given the number of questions BUT we all know that Arias is very adept in her lies and she could very well have manipulated her answers. After all, she did this in the tests administered by Samuels because her answers were based on the lie of the ninja story.

I agree that the jury's questions showed that they are not buying the defense's (Arias) case. One of the most telling issues to me in their questions and the answers is that incarcerated people were not included in any study. Then just how valid was the study in this case.

Thank you Lunarscope for respecting my wishes and cutting down your first post and agreeing to post only links and not long articles. With this new board, all of our consecutive posts are combined into one and it is confusing to wade through articles and posts about people I don't know. And then the print got so large, it blinded me. I can read the articles on other sites but I read this site to hear the personal opinions of the commenters.

I am so happy that Arias is not testifying. I don't think she was ever planning on being cross examined. This worked out just right for her. She didn't have to talk about her sex life or the murder and change her story. This jury has never heard all of her experience with different sex positions or the self defense story. All she told them was about her horrible abusive childhood, her relationships and that yes, she killed Alexander and it took her two years to admit it and that is why the elaborate lies. But it is going to backfire on her.

Because her testimony wasn't stricken, when DeMarte takes the stand, Martinez can play the video of her previous testimony to show the inconsistencies and the cross examination where she admits killing him and makes up the unbelievable self defense story the first jury did not believe. She will be caught in her web of lies and the Black Widow is going to die in prison because she murdered an innocent man twice in his bathroom and in the courtroom.

Yes, the jury only heard about her terrible abusive childhood and allegations against her parents of drug use. Even Geffner tried to corroborate that she was a victim of childhood abuse.

But, and here comes the but.....

-Martinez successfully discredited Geffner's testimony and did it expertly.
-With no proof of childhood abuse presented except by Arias' own words, her testimony cannot believed as she has been proven to be a pathological liar.
- By not testifying, she cannot continue to convince the jury.
- Her parents did not testify to save her life, in this trial or the first trial. Yes, they would not want to get up there and say they abused Arias as a child and yes, they were drug users BUT....Martinez would have been able to tear their testimony apart just by referring to their interviews.

If I was juror I would sincerely wonder why no family member would come forward as a mitigation witness (or by affidavit) to try to save Arias' life.
If I was a juror I would sincerely wonder why Arias has no friends who would speak for her and why she should not be put to death.

Refuting Arias' Mitigation Factors
1. Ms. Arias has no prior criminal history.
- although no charges were laid, police were called when her family found that she was growing pot on the roof of their house
- although no charges were laid, she has admitted to peeping in Travis' window while he was with another person
- although no charges were laid, she was accused by persons of slashing Travis' and a friend's tires
- although no charges were laid immediately, she continued to lie during her police interview
- she may not have any criminal history on the books, but she engaged in criminal activity

2. Ms. Arias was just 27 years old when she committed her offense.
- at 3 years shy of being 3 decades old, Arias was an adult when she killed Travis.
- she had finished the schooling she wished to take
- she was employed within the workforce
- she was living her life independently from her family
- she knew right from wrong

3. Ms. Arias is remorseful for her conduct.
- Shortly after the death of Travis, she wrote a lengthy letter to the family. Although she said she felt remorse, she spent the rest of the letter detailing her relationship with Travis and more importantly, the details of his death at the hands of ninjas.
- she talked with the state and family asking for a plea deal or she would make public her accusations of Travis being an abuser, porn lover and a pedophile
- she made up three different stories of her first, non-involvement, then her ninja story and finally her self-defense story
- she lied on tests done by expert(s) to help prove she had PTSD
- she claims she is innocent and no jury would convict her
- her entire defense was that she was the victim in this case and he made her do it
- and, and, and........

4. Ms. Arias suffered both physical and emotional as a child.
5. Ms. Arias suffered both physical and emotional abuse during her relationship with Mr. Alexander
- In both of these factors, there has been no proof of any abuse presented with the exception of Arias' own words!
- overwhelming evidence HAS been presented that Travis was not an abusive person to anyone
- there has been no corroboration of any abuse by her family

6. The abusive nature of the relationship caused Ms. Arias to suffer extreme emotional distress at the time of the incident.
- again, abuse at the hands of Travis in their relationship comes only from Arias
- the "incident" was premeditated days/weeks in advance with Arias covering her tracks as she travelled to Mesa.
- she says the "incident" was caused as she fought for her life and it was self-defense
- this was emphatically disproved by her conviction and guilty verdict of Premeditated First Degree Felony Murder with Extreme Cruelty

7. Ms. Arias has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
8. Ms. Arias has been diagnoses with Borderline Personality Disorder
- both of these diagnoses were presented by an expert in the first trial who was proved to 1. transcribe answers to tests himself and 2. answers from Arias were based on a base lie and therefore invalid
- this also was emphatically disproved by her conviction and guilty verdict of Premeditated First Degree Felony Murder with Extreme Cruelty

9. Ms. Arias' psychological makeup impaired her ability to cope with the tumultuous relationship she had with Mr. Alexander.
- being a pathological liar, a stalker, someone who invades the personal privacy of Travis, a possessive person and manipulator made the relationship tumultuous. Using her sexuality made the relationship tumultuous.
- Travis rejected her in the end and paid for it with his life.
- Her psychological makeup was one of wanting what she wanted, when she wanted and doing what she wanted to get it.
- she may have some kind of personality disorder but she is NOT mentally ill.

I absolutely loved the video on Crime Time where Retired FBI profiler James Fitzgerald analyzed the letter Jodi Arias wrote to Travis’s family from jail in Yreka in July 2008. He says that a killer often sends a letter to the family of the victim but usually don’t sign it.

The shocker was that he believes that Arias brought up Deanna Reid and said she was jealous of women Travis dated because she may have been trying to frame her for the murder.

"Arias is someone trying to manipulate the system. Is she painting the picture that this jealous girlfriend Deanna brought a boyfriend and killed Travis?" Fitzgerald said. The purpose of the letter to absolve her of the sins of killing her boyfriend and she will bring anyone down to do it."

Here’s a few of the notes I took as I listened to the video:

Interviewer asks: What does the letter say to you?

Fitzgerald says: “Nonsense. It is filler. It is flop. Bizarre. Ridiculous. Shorter version of the Ramsey kidnap letter. She takes eight pages to say what she could have said in a paragraph.”

The crime scene: Stabbing, slicing and shooting shows she is a multi tasker. The letter shows she is a multi tasker. Her brain is all over the place.

“The letter is saying she’s not the bad person. We loved each other and he loved me. The only thing she did wrong was check his text messages. She is angelic with a halo over her head.”

He also noticed that there were 283 usages of “ I and me” and 49 times used the word Travis which shows she is: narcissistic. This says to him “this letter is about me. What can I do to get out of this.”

"Nowhere in that letter is what happened to Travis. It is what happened to her."

I think Deanna did excellent and trial ceased' powerful, today will have the same topic and Deanna will likely have better composure!

From Liberty explaining to me' I do not believe Travis wearing or not wearing the Chastity ring at church functions' claims virginity, as the ring was instigated/designed years ago. Today the chasity ring means a better way to worship' because virginity isn't always voluntary or reversible!

That will eliminate the Defenses she lied argument' when testimony resumes, in my opinion!

I believe the ring was not required to be surrendered to the Bishop as a penance, so it is not claiming a life devoid of sex!

I don't know how to use the quotes so I just pasted the comment Lunarscope posted. I didn't see a Justjrep on this board but I am responding to the comment because it is inaccurate. The audio Deanna was referring to was a deposition with the defense in 2011.The defense is not implying she lied on the stand. They are implying she lied to them in 2011 and said she never had sex with Travis Alexander. In the trial in 2013, Deanna Reid did not lie about having sex with Travis Alexander. She testified under direct examination from Martinez she had sex with Travis. Premarital sex is against the LDS religion so they decided they needed to stop, tell their bishops, repent and then they broke up because Deanna wanted marriage and Travis did not.

Observer, I listened to the interview from the link you posted.
Very interesting.

A few things caught my attention too:

1.This letter was another way for her to manipulate the case against her. she is trying to absolve herself from the crime.

2. Trying to pin the murder on Reid? The mentioning of Deanna could be her way of saying that her ninja story is in fact true. Could the two ninjas (one being a woman) have been hired by Deanna or could it have been Deanna herself with an accomplice. Deanna was scorned because Arias was now with Travis and she said that Travis told her she was a little crazy.

3. She said the only thing that she did wrong was go into Travis' phone and read his text messages. Otherwise, she was understanding and a good person.

4.Her intelligence......Not too smart if she finally uses self-defense and abused person as her final story and her defense. If she truly was an abused person, she would have most likely admitted right away of this and that is why she killed him. Instead, this was her 3rd story coming after that she was not there and then the ninja story........I like how emotionality was mentioned and that this letter clearly demonstrates the high level of emotionality in Arias as her brain is all over the place throughout.

5. May 2008 Email....This email was essentially stating her extreme frustration that she was not getting the credit she felt she deserved being his girlfriend - not girl friend. Suggestions were made that this email, a month before she murdered him was an increase in the threat level by her after sneaking into his house, slashing tires and peeping in windows. Also suggested is that this could be seen a precursor to the actual murder. About a week after this email, the burglary happened at her grandmother's. the plan was in the works.

Interesting perspective all around. Too bad he couldn't have been a state's witness.

It's so funny that the defense's attempt to prove Deanna Reid was the liar and Jodi Arias telling the truth was a massive fail as I expected it to be.

Deanna was successful in getting Wilmott to play the audio recording of her deposition with the defense in 2011.

Nowhere on that audio recording do we hear Wilmott ask Reid if she had sex with Travis and Reid deny it.

All Wilmott asked on the recording was "Are you aware of Travis Alexander having sex with any other individual besides Jodi?" She answered. "I figure there may be more but I don't know." She told Wilmott she never asked her if she had sex with Travis and when asked in court she had admitted to it on the stand.

Wilmott said Reid did not tell her the whole story in the deposition. She said she answered what was asked of her. Wilmott is implying because Reid didn't blurt out "I had sex with Travis Alexander" that was a lie by omission.

On re-direct, Martinez pointed out that when asked how many women she knew had sex with Travis Alexander and she said two. Jodi plus Deanna makes two in case the defense can't add. He also showed a transcript from the trial where Deanna Reid testified to having sex with Alexander. She told the truth any time she was asked.

So Nurmi and Geffner were lying when they said Deanna Reid lied and told the defense she never had sex with Travis. That lie was inserted to make Arias happy. She got to call Deanna a liar. But it didn't work because as soon as Reid took the stand the real liar was exposed: Arias.

Reid testified that they did talk marriage before she went on her mission to Costa Rica in June 2000. He talked about being the best husband ever and said how much he loved her. Deanna had mentioned coming home in November 2001 and she would marry Travis Alexander. But he was upset Deanna's family didn't like him and Deanna told him her family was a priority. He was hurt and wrote her that he started seeing someone else while she was still on her mission.
Deanna says she came home from her mission in November 2001 and didn't see Travis until a few weeks after she came home. He was dating another woman. When that relationship was over, Deanna and Travis started dating in 2002. In 2003, they started having sexual contact and in 2004, he moved to Mesa and she soon followed. She broke it off in 2005 when he said he didn't want to get married, they remained friends. They confessed to the bishop and lost their temple recommends for a year.

The timeline blows the bogus story told by Marc McGee all to smithereens.

Isn't it lovely to see that the jury is hearing what a liar Arias is along with Geffner and Nurmi and Willmott.

- Deanna had vaginal sex once with Travis.
- Deanna went to her Bishop and confessed.
- Deanna was sanctioned.
- Travis went to his Bishop and confessed.
- Travis was sanctioned.

No where in the audio was Deanna asked if she had had sex with Travis.

And as far as McGee goes....
- He was knowledgeable with computers.
- He received permission to use the Bishop's computer.
- He told the Bishop about pop-ups but no porn. The Bishop took the computer in to a computer store to have virus removed. the Bishop said that no one would be "punished" for telling him about pop-ups or porn found on the computer and therefore McGee's fear of having his wedding affected was a lie.
- His on-line girlfriend was given permission to stay at the Bishop's house. Had there been another male staying there, this permission would have not been granted.
- Travis left in 2000 - not even living there at the time McGee says he was

I think Witness No. 1 is cooked well done by now and branded a red faced lying pig.

Deanna Reid turned him on the spit yesterday and today and Bishop Vernon Parker finished roasting him.

We all knew he was lying anyway because his story was ridiculous.

Bishop proved McGee's story about Alexander confiding in him when he lived at the bishop's house about being sexually abused as a child and hooked on kiddy porn and putting porn on the bishop's computer could not be true because:

1- Travis Alexander did not live in his home at the same time that Marc McGee's fiancée, now wife, lived there. Travis lived in the home from June to August 2000. McGee's now wife lived there in November to December 2000.

2- Neither the bishop nor his family EVER saw Travis Alexander use the bishop's computer which was in the living room. McGee had permission to use the computer and was very familiar with computers.

3- The porn popups of scantily clad women started coming on the computer when McGee was there visiting his fiancée and using the computer.

4- McGee reported the popups to the bishop and he discovered the porn belonged to another man who lived in the home, Jake Thompson.

5-McGee never said anything about child porn and the bishop never disciplined anyone for the porn, but took the computer to the shop and had the virus removed.

6-The computer never crashed and none of the boys were ever disciplined for stumbling across porn on the computer.

6- McGee's wedding would never be in jeopardy if he reported child porn on the computer.
