The latest dramatics is that Maria De La Rosa was “racially harassed” Monday by an obsessed trial watcher as she exited the courthouse.
Mikal Ann Dillion, a blogger, sang and danced the "la cucaracha" when De La Rosa walked out of court.
The head of security spoke with the judge and lawyers and then they filed into a room and Maria De La Rosa walked out smiling. The judge said nothing but I am sure will privately wag her finger at the culprit. Yet, De La Rosa gets to continue to harass Travis Alexander supporters on twitter.
I’m sure Nurmi will file another motion for a mistrial making this all Juan Martinez’s fault again.
He will say Martinez again committed prosecutorial conduct by yelling and flailing his arms in the courtroom at defense witnesses and creating a hysteria among obsessed trial watchers and now not just the witnesses’ lives but the legal team’s lives are in danger.
It ranks up there with Nurmi's theatrical excuses that:
LaViolette can’t testify because she got a death threat: “I hope you choke on a chicken bone.”
Patty Womack can’t testify because someone on social media threatened her and her daughter by reposting a Facebook picture of them on another site.
Jodi Arias can’t testify in front of the media and public in the mitigation retrial because of her “mental issues” although they didn’t stop her from sitting on the stand for 18 days during the guilt phase describing every sex positions she had ever been in since she was a teenager.
Fourteen defense witnesses are terrified of testifying because Martinez will bully them and encourage everyone on social media to harass them.
Abe Abdehaldi cannot say Jodi Arias told him “there is magic in my underwear” but the defense can say Travis Alexander is a pediophile who has child porn on his computer, a sex maniac and a violent batterer without any evidence.
Dr. DeMarte cannot say Jodi Arias is a bitch but the defense can say Alexander aka T Dog he has a Jekyll and Hyde personality without any evidence.
Lonnie Dvorkin, the defense’s computer expert, cannot testify for the state because he may give away valuable defense secrets.

Observer, yes, on and on. I seriously wish one of you would say how much longer this will go on in your opinions. I read somewhere or heard that now they think it will go on into March. This is only February 11. I really cannot imagine what else needs to be testified to for a couple of weeks. But then I can't imagine any of the things that have happened to stall this trial.
Duluth, I have no idea how long this will go on because Nurmi said today Fonesca was supposed to testify this week but Mean Old Martinez took too long in his rebuttal and now Geffner can't testify until the 18th and Smith on the 20th and Heaven knows who else he is calling.
Nurmi will drag this out as long as he can to get the last word and make sure he drills it in the jurors head that Travis Alexander is a nasty old pervert who looked at porn, used a mentally ill girl for sex and beat her and choked her until she passed out.
What do you think of De La Rosa playing victim because someone serenaded her with Spanish music? What do you think of DeMarte's new revelations that Arias stalked Matt and Daryl when they tried to break it off with her and Arias cousin and grandparents said she was mean to her mother, snide, sarcastic, a total bitch and corrected everyone's grammar and that restaurant boss and coworker said she only flirted with male customers and kissed one and ignored female customers. I think it sounds just like the Jodi Arias we saw on the stand for 18 days and the defense is trying to keep under wraps.

I agree with Nurmi's theatrics being a performance but not that he should be on Broadway. He shouldn't even be in a courtroom!
I also agree that a motion from the defense (Nurmi) could very well happen over the MDR incident. That is the only thing this defense team is good at - putting forth motions and causing delays.
But I DO feel that whoever did the singing was out of line.
IMO, there is no place for any racial discrimination in this world. and this incident was obvious.
I put this perpetrator in the same class as Sheriff Joe who was found guilty of racial profiling as part of his job in law enforcement. He is a disgrace!
This person is also a disgrace as a supporter of justice for Travis and of his family. Travis would never have engaged in behaviour like this nor would he condone it. The Alexander family has been nothing more than a model for respectful conduct throughout this entire case.

I think it could be wrapped up at least by the middle to end of March but that depends on how many more motions will be filed by the defense (Arias) or other stunts they come up with to delay things. I DO see the defense's surrebuttal case carrying on for some time as they will again explore every sexual act ever performed, every porn info they can find and of course they want to PROVE that Arias is mentally ill and not eligible for execution.
The length of this trial depends on the defense (Arias).
I feel the judge has just about had enough as well. Just my opinion.

Calling De La Rosa a cockroach is no worse than De La Rosa and Arias tweeting from the courtroom on the Jodi Arias Update twitter account that Martinez is a Chihuahua who wants to get a piece of Cougarlucious, which was De La Rosa's twitter handle until Martinez outed her in court. Arias and De La Rosa have been getting away with their mean tweets against the prosecution and Flores and the state's witnesses since the trial began in 2013.
De La Rosa had been fighting with Travis Alexander supporters on social media for months. I'd think a professional in her 50s would be mature enough to handle someone calling her a cockroach in Spanish.
Ever since Arias's sarcastic tweet that "Kirk" was not going to impeach Dr. DeMarte, the Jodi Arias Update site has stopped their attack on the state and is simply stating when court begins every day and posting quotes opposing the death penalty than mean tweets against Martinez, Flores, Alexander and all the state witnesses.
The defense can dish it out but they can't take it.

Observer, I have no idea how old de la Rosa is, but if you remember, I have thought her totally UNPROFESSIONAL since the first trial and have thought the judge should have called her out more than once but that is never going to happen. I remember from the first trial on day 18, if memory serves and it probably doesn't, that she should have been removed from the trial but of course JSS would never consider having control over her court in a million years even if she saw it with her own eyes. If this trial ever does come to a conclusion, I would like to see people say what their thoughts are on JSS and the lack of control of the courtroom. I don't think she is strong and would never call out anybody, no matter who they are or what they have done. Just one more reason this trial has taken so many years. Well. So what. Maricopa County probably has millions of dollars they can waste on this horrific murderer just to appease the defense. Of course, there will be millions of dollars Maricopa County cannot waste on any other case. Strange, isn't it?

De La Rosa wasn't targeted because she is Hispanic but because of her mean tweets calling everybody who doesn't agree with her stupid and clueless. If the woman pulled a gun or a knife and attacked Mara de la Rosa and called her a racial slur that would be scary. You should move to the Phoenix AZ area and turn on the news and you'll realize what is scary. Murders, rapes, home invasions, robberies, drive by shootings, drugs are rampant. Fifty per cent of the criminals in Phoenix prisons are illegals from Mexico. I don't even watch the news anymore because it is just one crime after another. In 2008, when Jodi Arias murdered Travis Alexander, there were 167 murders per 100,000 population and the total population is more than 4 million people.
