Here is my humble take.......................

The jury did not buy the defense's case.
They felt that the defense's experts were not credible.
They immediately dismissed porn and DV.
They felt they were being manipulated during Arias' testimony.
Absolutely noticed that no one came forward to speak to them, to plead for her life.
they noticed and felt it was strange that Arias did not speak again.
They felt the defense put Travis on trial.
Believe that Arias has BPD but it was not a mitigating factor.
Etc.
Etc.

The jury was right on the mark with the exception of one.

This juror based most of her thoughts on Arias' journals and felt that her emotional psychological makeup had much to do with what she did.
The photos of Travis did not sway her.
She distanced herself during deliberations.
She watched the J.A. movie and had followed the first trial.
She entered deliberations with a definite bias.

My faith remains that this jury had it figured out with one hold out who should never have made it through the screening process in the first place.

JSS was not the cause of this - this one biased juror was.
I hope I'm thinking your opinion' soon, the dynamite or Allen charge instructions has my early blame, plus the false porn on computer and earlier little boy assault allowed on Travis and with the secrecy that caused a twitter circus!
Your posting is right on, Nern. The 11 jurors are very sensible. And that one lone juror who refused to vote for death sounds like she is simply a strange woman who should not have been on any jury. I was surprised it was a woman as I would have sworn it would be a man. Wrong again.

I agree that the jury don't hold anything against the judge and like her but they did see the delays as a problem. I don't think the judge is a strong judge and I think this whole thing should have been done and over with months and years ago, but this judge has a reputation for taking a long time in all her cases. Some attorneys in the Phoenix area don't like being in her court because it takes so long. But she has been handed another capital case, so whoever makes the decisions must not worry about time being an issue. I know you think the judge made all the right calls, but do you think if the situation was different that a different judge would have been wrong if the trial went on a steady daily course? Of course you don't, I'm sure. For some reason, this judge is on snail pace and I personally think it is a waste of time. And more power to you for thinking she does a good job.

Anyway, it's over. At least until sometime in April.
The jurors all lay the blame on that ONE juror. She was adamant from the beginning of deliberations that the death penalty was only meant as a 'revenge' tool.

Here's an interesting link that tells of Troy's 'surprise' meeting with Arias in that long hallway, and how she clammed up once she saw the camera. Plus the jurors are all speaking out, saying they even tried getting that one juror taken off and asked for one of the alternates instead. They tried telling the Judge that one hold-out would not even DELIBERATE. She had also brought in things that were not even presented in the trial and was going by that Lifetime movie, for one thing.

Juror No. 17 who refused to vote for the death penalty was a stealth juror because she said she believed in the death penalty to get on the jury and then in deliberations told the jurors they were just trying to kill Arias for revenge. She never should have been allowed on the jury because she had followed the trial on Nancy Grace and watched the Lifetime Movie. She was a battered wife so maybe she had thoughts of killing her abuser and so she couldn't blame Arias. She told the jurors she felt Arias had the psychological makeup that prevented her from getting out of the relationship so she couldn't help what she did.

What shocked me was that the jurors told the judge about Juror 17 and she interviewed her and she apparently lied to the judge because she let her stay on.

Here's what Vinnie Politan had to say about the juror.

The "stealth" holdout juror demonstrates the imperfection of our system. If jurors are not completely honest it becomes a problem. The only filter in cases like this are the attorneys, who have to figure out who the jurors with an agenda are. But that task is virtually impossible.
Social media does make it somewhat easier, but our system is based upon the honesty of jurors. If they lie and the defense wins... We are stuck with the results.

What may be more troubling here was the juror's refusal take part in deliberations... This is a situation that can be remedied by the judge... However the removal of "holdout" jurors is a sensitive area. It takes a skilled jurist to understand and appreciate what is happening, and to be able to fix it.

While today was a day where justice was not done. This trial was not a complete loss. A killer did not walk free like in Orlando.

Our prayers today are for Travis to rest in peace and for his family to feel our love, so they can live the lives Travis wanted for them.
Questions I hope Arizona Lawyer can clear up..........

The strealth jurors name is out now. Her name is Claudia something...I forget her last name. Among other places online, here is a post from JMPSP and her name, address and husband's rap sheet record are in the comments here. This tidbit happened to be saved by Beth Karas, and how utterly interesting that the Judge met in secret with this juror a long time back!

Where is Arizona Lawyer?
Are things like this legal? Of course, this was one thing the public had no access to, since it was one of her many secret meetings.
Can charges be brought against this juror?
Could this whole matter be investigated farther?
Can the Judge be investigated by SOMEONE?

Interesting to say the least. Why back in October 2014, did Judge Stephens want to speak in chambers to Holdout Juror 17? ??? This according to Beth Karas October 2014 post.
Beth Karas

Jury is sent home until Monday morning. The judge asks juror #17 to stay behind. Nurmi waives Arias's presence for whatever they are doing in chambers. Attorneys meet with judge in chambers now. Arias follows them in--I guess her presence is not waived.
Below is what 'Jodi Arias is Innocent' web sight is now posting' Redfox says SJ meaning Simon who runs and slimes the JII web sight, everything below is about JII' except the heavy heart!

roxfox Wrote:SJ has now posted the names and some personal info of all of the jurors (except of course the lone dissenter) on his page.  They could not be happier right now, and the vitriol towards the Alexanders continues.

I am done looking there.  It literally turns my stomach - Greek ghoul Maria is especially repulsive, she is now wishing for Sheriff Joe to drop dead.

The only good thing coming out of this is we know they have raised nowhere near the amount of $$ needed to hire a competent appeals attorney.

My heart is so heavy right now for the Alexanders.  Sigh.
I didn't of course watch the Lifetime movie because it is not worthy of viewing for me, to each his own. I don't need the movie to tell me what happened. I feel sorry for the Alexander family and his friends. They will have to suffer even more until April 13.
I wish the stealth juror had been removed when there was a chance, but it didn't happen.
Arias had better be watched in the prison because she will be taking advantage of everybody in that prison. That is what I hate. She will have the rest of her life to do her manipulations. I hope there is someone with a stronger personality than her at that prison. But the authorities really need to keep their eyes open.
This jury, other than the stealth juror, didn't believe one thing of the defense lies. That makes me so happy I cannot even tell you.

In October, 2014, the judge had a meeting with Juror 17. And kept her. Will we ever know about what went on in there? It is sounding like maybe Juror 17 is similar to Arias, with the ability to be what you want her to be when you want her to be.
Jodi has one in 10 thousand charisma, it is why I posted about Ted Bungy yesterday, not that Jodi was a mass-murder ,[yet] he only confessed a few days before executed, oh by the way' I did slaughter 30 and here is evidence, his execution interrupted confession, he self defended and charmed the courtroom, and press reports, nearly getting off with bloody hands, he drove a old beat-up VW with the passenger seat missing to hide bodies when driving (few but some knew 100% he was killing) and carried on a normal life, Jodi is in her element confined and restricted, she charmed the Judge she will charm the guards and most inmates, think how she just sat in court doing-it' it's uncanny, Bungy had education with salesmanship in his favor! Everything except what they tell us' tells me Jodi and Nurmi are fond of eachother, two peas in a pod, in April when Judge makes her decision its case closed, we can't do anything but blog protest, the minutes of the sacret juror17 in chambers will be secreted away, must be, its against the judges best interest if released!
In April Jodi has a hearing that will decide
Life in Prison Without the Possibility of Parole = LWPoP
or
Life With the Possibility of release after 25 Years = LWPoR25
No time served is deducted by our understanding
Time served deducted from a Possible after 25 Years release is what Nancy Grace reports, she could know what we don't' but I doubt-it!

Jodi Parents and the Alexander family can and likely will be able to address JSS in open court for aiding the decision making process!

Arizona has not (to date) had a release after 25 year convict, and no recent murderer can get the option (possibility has been removed) but their can be criminals awaiting court that fall into the Possibility of release after 25 years, like Jodi has!
