Observer,
I don't seem to have the same problem that you have with regard to posting a New Reply. I did for a day or so but I am now using the New Reply for this post.

In response to Arias watching "cop" shows, I agree that she has probably researched and researched cases and taken what she believes would help her in her defense and added it to her many, many lies.
She is not the least bit knowledgeable in the law nor does she have the imagination to come up with her stories/lies all on her own.

She may present to have the gift of words when she speaks but I have noticed that in her hand-written items, she makes many spelling and grammar mistakes.

She says she has an Einstein IQ which apparently was backed up to a degree in an IQ test administered to her.
Well, this IQ has failed her over and over again.
She picks and chooses from others, information that she feels will help her but she does it so often that they come into conflict with each other.
Her lies catch up with her and she just proves to everyone that she isn't really that smart.

She "dabbles" in Mormonism and takes what she wants from it to further her goal.
She journals but is not honest in her beloved journals.
She is an accomplished photographer but there is no evidence of her work except her in front of the camera
She is a painter but has used tracings to advance herself in this medium.
Her entire road trip to Mesa to slaughter Travis was taken from another case.
Her accusations of DV were only substantiated by experts who fed her information.
Even her self defense strategy was taken from other cases.

And finally, all of her smarts and Einstein IQ could not save her from being found guilty of Premeditated First Degree Felony Murder with Extreme Cruelty.

She is a parasite who feeds off of other people.
As I said before, she lies as easily as she breathes.

Observer,
Arias hates anyone who was at all personal with Travis. They had honest relationships with him - something she did not. The only thing she had with Travis was being a booty call as this was the one weakness in him that she played on throughout their relationship.
I agree with Detective Flores when he was being interviewed on the 48 Hours segment. Jealousy is the most powerful of motives in cases such as these.

Thanks for telling me that Nern. I don't understand it because from Monday to Thursday, I never had to log in once I registered. Thursday, I had to log in and from then on every time I come to the site I have to log in. As soon as I type the O in my user name, my name and passwork come up so the site has stored the name and password so I don't understand why I have to log in each time and can't edit an old post or start a new reply but have to reply to someone else's post.

I prefer to push the New Reply button because I don't like to reply to other posts because it makes the post double as long. I usually just delete the entire post or delete all of the post but the one part I am responding to. I don't like to wade through a long post I already read to get to the response. The duplicate posts also make the posts so long that in less than a week we are already on our eighth page. With the way the trial drags on, we may fill several threads before we are done.

If anybody has a solution for the problem, I would appreciate it.
Even though I say to save my login info, each new day I have to login to get to this site.

I too do not like to wade through previous posts to reply BUT I like having the old ones because I often refer back to them.

I have contacted Osborne regarding returning to this forum. He is thinking about it but has reservations.

Anyone know what happened to Tracy? She was a great contributor to this forum but has been gone a long time. Maybe just lost interest.

I just heard a comment on a show I was watching regarding being on a jury years after a crime.

Not verbatim but.......
.....to step back in time and have to deliberate on evidence from a crime is a heavy burden for members of a jury.

I think that this is a very true statement for any member of a jury.

In this case, the jury must look back to 2008 and even before this and determine the fate of Arias. Daunting.

Having said this though, in this case in particular, the state (Martinez) is doing an excellent job in showing how Arias, a convicted murderess, cannot be believed nor can the people she has brought forward in her defense. He has and will continue to show her lack of remorse despite her pitiful words in her short testimony.
And....the defense is helping him by bringing forward evidence in their case that is packed full of lies.

Most importantly, Martinez has and is bringing Travis Alexander back into the picture as a good, honest man who would not harm another human being in any way but rather help them if he could.
He has and is bringing back to the forefront and to the jury that his slaughter at the hands of Arias was a senseless, horrible crime that she has been convicted of and he is fighting for the ultimate punishment.

I have faith in his abilities as does the Alexander family as they continue to go through this terrible trial. I continue to admire the family's steadfastness and resolve to see justice for their brother.
Excellent points, Nern.

I found it very hard to watch the examination of the defense witnesses at the trial because both Kirk Nurmi and Jennifer Wilmott waltzed and tap danced around all the questions unlike Martinez who asked pointed, direct questions and hit a bulls eye every time.

Maybe that’s why the jury and galley are nodding off when the defense is up and wake up and are alert and focused when Martinez is up to bat whether he is examining a state witness or cross examining a defense witness.

Example was in the 2011 deposition of Deanna Reid. Whatever defense attorney deposed Reid they asked her questions like: “Would it surprise you to know that Travis Alexander had sex with women besides Jodi Arias?.” Reid replied: I don’t know. He didn’t discuss his love life with me.”

“How many women do you know of that had sex with Travis Alexander?” She responded, “Two.”

They didn’t ask her to name the two women or she would have said: “Jodi Arias and me.”

Instead, Wilmott tried to prove Reid lied in the deposition because she didn’t come out and say she had sex with Travis Alexander. Reid replied, “You never asked me or I would have told you.”

Attorneys depose witnesses ahead of time so they know what the witness is going to say when they testify and a good attorney never asks a witness a question on the stand that they haven’t asked in deposition because the answer may hurt their case.

It makes no sense that the defense attorney wouldn’t ask Deanna Reid in the deposition if she had sex with Travis Alexander since they are trying to prove he was a sex maniac who had sex with every woman he talked to or dated.

Juan Martinez had no problem asking Deanna Reid on the stand, “Did you have sex with Travis Alexander?” because he knew she was going to be truthful since he had asked her that question in deposition. He knew Arias was testifying that Alexander told her he had sex with Deanna Reid and they lost their temple recommends when they admitted it to their bishops. Martinez wanted to bring it out himself so she could explain herself rather than have the defense ask her and make it look worse than it was.

When Nurmi cross examined Reid he was shocked that she admitted on the stand that she had sex with Travis Alexander. He fully expected her to deny it. If he or Wilmott had asked the question in the deposition, he would have known the answer and not been blind sighted.

Nurmi was so shocked he bumbled around and didn’t know what to ask her. In her media interviews after the verdict, Arias complained that Nurmi did not expose Reid as a liar because Arias said Reid had said in her defense deposition that she didn’t have sex with Travis Alexander.

Yet, Reid proved on the stand last week that she never lied. They just didn’t ask her directly or she would have told them the truth.

Nurmi and Wilmott keep losing in their battle to try to impeach the prosecution witnesses because it is not the prosecution witnesses who are lying. It is their pathological lying client and the crackpot witnesses she dug up who are too afraid to get up on the stand and face the human lie detector and perjury charges.

In his motions for mistrial and to try to get the charges dropped and the death penalty off the table, Nurmi whined that Martinez was bullying the defense witnesses and encouraging people on social media to bully them. Judge Stephens was not buying it. In denying the motion, the judge stated in her order that Martinez was simply vigorously cross examining the witnesses.

Arias complained in post conviction TV interviews and in a 12 page letter trying to fire him that she was upset that Nurmi did not impeach Deanna Reid and that he humiliated her by asking her questions about sex and playing the sex tape while she was on the stand. She only wanted Travis’s voice to be heard and the tape to be played in private.

Then when the judge wouldn’t allow her to fire Nurmi, Arias represented herself for two weeks just long enough to get two professional experts to lie for her and two other liars to write phony affidavits.

So I was not surprised to see Nurmi humiliated Flores, instead of Arias, by playing the sex tape when Flores was on the stand and Wilmott examined Arias during her secret testimony and didn’t ask her about every sex act she engaged in since she was a teenager and there was no testimony about being Alexander’s “dirty little secret.” Just questions on how remorseful Arias is and her horrible abusive childhood with drug addict parents to make Arias look like a victim of violent parents and a violent sex crazed Travis Alexander.

Miss Priss believes she has bested Martinez because he will not be able to cross examine her but she has actually fallen right into his trap. Now she has testified, he can play his cross examination from the last trial to show she is lying about being remorseful and exaggerating her bad childhood and admitting to stabbing Alexander 29 times, slitting his throat and shooting him in the head.

Because she didn’t testify to this jury about the bogus self defense story, Martinez may not be able to play that part of her testimony.

He will be able to play the testimony of Arias, Mimi, Lisa and any others he wishes when DeMarte testifies.

The state’s rebuttal case already started with a bang so I am excited to hear what other witnesses wipe out Arias lies and alibis.
Observer, you used the exact word I was going to use in response to your posting - blind-sided!

The defense (Arias), in their infinite wisdom, feel that they can blind-side witnesses when they get on the stand. And they try it every time.

Arias has no clue about the law and running a trial. She has no idea how to impeach a witness. Nurmi and Willmott should but they continue to show their ineptitude by asking the questions they do.

Wilmott knew that Deanna had never said she had had sex with Travis when she was deposing her before her testimony. She did not ask that question of her because she wanted to try and blind-side her when she was on the stand and prove she was a liar. It backfired on her when Deanna stated that you never asked me and if she had, she would have said yes. Smart move by Deanna to want the audio played. It proved that she was not lying.

Then, as you point out, Martinez cuts to the chase and asks the question directly of Deanna. I am sure it was extremely difficult for Deanna to have to once again admit that she broke the laws of the Mormon church and did in fact have sex with Travis. But she did answer the question with honesty. She will not allow the lies of the defense to, in any way, continue to put Travis "on trial" and destroy his reputation.

Deanna exposed Arias and the DT of the manipulation they were trying. I am sure that the defense (Arias) was furious with Deanna's testimony that left "egg on their face" and demonstrated the lengths that they will go to in order to discredit each and every person that Arias hates.

The line used in the first trial "dirty little secret" has been replaced with "mentally ill young girl" in this trial.

As everyone seems to agree, the Defense (Arias) are retrying the guilt phase with this new jury and completely ignoring that a conviction has been handed down. They ignore that the jury is here knowing of the conviction of Premeditated First Degree Felony Murder with Extreme Cruelty and their only role is to sentence Arias in determining whether she should get the death penalty for her crime.
Martinez will show once again the 29 stab wounds, the slit throat from ear to ear and finally the gun shot wound to the head to help them with their decision.
I finally found the login at the top of the front page. Once I logged in, then I clicked on the threads and I could post a New Reply. Before, I was clicking on the threads first and saw no login button so pushed on reply on the last post and then it took me to a page where I logged in. There was no place there to save the login information so as soon as I left the site, I lost it. Hopefully, I won't have to log on every time I post. At least I can now post a New Reply.

I just watched a moving interview on Nancy Grace with Linda Ballard Boss who says it was an engagement ring that Travis had bought for her that Jodi Arias had stolen. She said they dated in 2001 to January 1002.

"We were going to get married in February 2002. I was in love with Travis. One of the hardest things I could do was break off this relationship. I didn’t feel he was the right man for me.” She said she knew he bought the ring but she broke up with him before he could give it to her.

Grace had asked her if PrePaid Legal was the reason she broke up with him. She admitted she was not as “gung ho” about PrePaid Legal as Alexander. She said she was uncomfortable with selling pre paid insurance to her friends and didn’t think as his wife she could support him in his business.

The last time she remembered seeing Travis was in October 2006. They both liked riding roller coasters so she had invited him to the Arizona state fair. He told her he had been dating a girl named Jodi and she was a pathological liar and had told him lies about her ex boyfriend.

Linda says: “The Travis I knew was kind and loving and he never abused me and treated me very kindly and gave me flowers” and wrote a poem for her. She read a poem “All the Best” Alexander had written for her on this video. I wish Martinez would call her and use the poem in evidence showing his sensitive sweet side.

It is very touching and worth watching:

Linda Ballard Boss also has a website with pictures of her and Travis:

Another great recap of the week's proceedings.
Seems we here commenting in this forum are of like minds with most people.

Observer,

I watched the interview with Linda on Nancy Grace and of course remember seeing it before. That was at the time I was tuning into all the "talking heads" shows on HLN.

Yes, it was good to hear, once again, about the kind of person Travis was and how he had been loved.

But......it also reaffirmed to me why I do not watch these shows any longer and especially Nancy Grace. She did interrupt Linda a number of times and then went on a rant about how she could not be in sales or be an ambulance chaser when she was a practicing lawyer, etc. etc. If you are bringing on a guest to interview, it Is THAT guest that one wants to hear and not the personal opinions of the interviewer.

In any case, thanks for the link.

The good thing about logging in when you come on site is that you can post New Reply but the bad thing was I hit the New Reply button without reading your response to my earlier post. I just read it now and I wanted to repost your reply in its entirety because it was excellent and I agree with every word. You hit the nail on the head when you pointed out Wilmott deliberately did not ask Reid if she had sex with Alexander so she could make Reid out to be a liar. Sneaky and slimy tricks like this seem to be the hallmark of the Arias defense. They seem to be following in the footsteps of their passive aggressive client. They smile at the witnesses and then sneak in through the backdoor and stab them in the back. And it backfires every time.

However, I have to point out that Martinez set them up with Abe because he did not bring up until re-direct that the bogus email didn't have Abe's address on it until after Wilmott had made a fool of herself asking Abe if he was sure he didn't get it and if it is possible that the email when to his spam folder.

Then Martinez swooped in and blind sighted the clueless Wilmott and pointed out there was no address at the top of the email and asked Abe if there was a carrier pigeon email that would get the email to him. Apparently, Nurmi and Wilmott were too stupid to realize that Abe's address wasn't even on the email or they wouldn't have introduced the fake email as evidence that Travis Alexander was a controlling, jealous, possessive boyfriend who forced the poor innocent little Jodi to get rid of her male friends. Arias probably manufactured the email after murdering Alexander like she did the pedophile letters, the shorts and top with Travis Alexander's name emblazoned on them, the emails and text messages to a dead Alexander and the letter to his family trying to frame Deanna Reid as the jealous former girlfriend who slashed his tires and slashed his throat and ordered her boyfriend to shoot him in the head.

Martinez wins in cross and re-direct every time, not only because he is smarter than they are, but because he has the facts, evidence and truth on his side. Wilmott and Nurmi have nothing so they rely on dirty tricks and slander. It is laughable that they think the jury is stupid enough to buy Arias' lies about Alexander being a pedophile and an abuser when her stories even sound fabricated. If she was body slammed by a 200 lb man more than her finger and ribs would be hurt. She would be bruised and sore all over and find it difficult to walk. She would not be able to get up and run into the closet and grab a gun.

You were also brilliant when you said "dirty little secret" has been replaced with "mentally ill girl." That is so true.

I also agree with what you said in your last post about Nancy Grace. I too watched HLN during the Arias trial but quit watching HLN cold turkey when it was over because of the talking heads trying murder cases on the air rather than reporting what happened in the trial and Nancy Grace sensationalizing cases and misleading viewers, interrupting guests to blab about her personal life and fighting with defense attorneys.

Excellent point about Martinez blind-siding the defense (Arias) about Abe and the email. Hadn't thought of that one.

I cannot believe that after all this time, Nurmi and Wilmott would not check and recheck their facts before bringing in evidence that so easily is proven to be false. They certainly are doing nothing to earn their salaries that are lining their pockets.

I think that at this point, the defense (Arias) is just scrambling to come up with something to present.
In doing so they are opening their last bag of dirty tricks but the tricks are so outrageous and poor that it continually backfires on them.
They have nothing left and are getting sloppy in their research and their preparedness for questions. Good lawyers would have noticed that there was no address on the email so they would not be made out to be the fools that they are.

I am sure that Arias is in the background pounding away at them as to what to do next and it seems they are listening. I have said that Arias has no idea about the law and being a lawyer and she is still working on "emotionality" with all that she wants put forward.

They continue to underestimate Martinez and his abilities to tear apart their defense with the truth and real evidence.
One cannot help but notice that he is able, in every issue in this so-called mitigation phase, to refute and expose all of the defense's (Arias') lies.

The rest of this trial will be interesting in that we will find out just how deep the hole that the defense (Arias) is digging will get before they fall in and bury themselves completely.
Like his client, Kirk Nurmi is a total hypocrite. In the last trial, he totally freaked out when Juan Martinez stopped to pose for a photograph on his way to the courthouse with a woman who admired him.

The next day Nurmi jumped up and down shrieking prosecutorial misconduct and demanded a mistrial.

Seems like the night before he had tuned into HLN and saw Jean Cesarez criticizing Juan Martinez for posing for a photograph and said, "What if the jury saw Mr. Martinez doing this?"

So the first thing the next morning Nurmi was demanding an evidentiary hearing to prove Martinez mugged for the camera right in front of the jury.

Of course, as soon as Jean Cesarez took the stand she admitted the jury wasn't out there and only she saw it.

And Judge Stephens, the people pleaser and fixer, calmly said "No harm done. Mistrial denied" and with her eyeglasses slipping over her nose, looked sternly at Mr. Martinez and told him to go in the courthouse through a back door next time. We have never seen Mr. Martinez posing with fans since.

But guess who were photographed posing in front of the courthouse last week with a "fan?"

You guessed it: The Evil Twins - Jodi Arias aunt and mother looking all slim and glamorized in wigs all ready for the red carpet. They won't take the stand to save their precious baby's life but they will soak up the spotlight. You can bet that as soon as Jodi Arias is shipped off to Perryville, the twins will be tripping off to New York and Hollywood to appear on Dr. Phil, Good Morning America and the Barbara Walters Show.

But that is just fine and dandy with Jodi Arias and Nurmi and Wilmott. Afterall, the defense can do whatever they want. But if Abe, Deanna or the bishop posed for pictures in front on the courthouse, Nurmi would be shrieking Mistrial and Prosecutorial Misconduct.

I bet the evil twins also have a book in the works which they hope will be a best seller where they will publish the 10 forged pedophile letters and other manufactured evidence of their convicted cold blooded psychopathic murderer daughter/niece to show Travis Alexander is a violent disgusting scumbag and Jodi Arias is a wrongly convicted battered woman who was only trying to save her own life. Whatayabet the twins will soon be on QVC marketing Jodi Arias artwork and maybe have their own perfume or designer bags or clothing line designed by the convicted felon. LOL
