Just cannot do it Duluth - cannot turn on HLN or hear Nancy F------ Grace ever again but you can keep us posted of anything NEW they may report.
Actually she only spoke for a few minutes. She did say she doesn't think Arias will get death even though the murder makes it a death penalty charge. She said it will help Arias that she didn't testify ad nauseum in front of the jury like she did the first trial. And she said she thinks because of how the trial stopped for such long periods of time during the trial (start, stop, start, stop, you remember) that a case loses momentum and that is the main reason she thinks they won't vote the death penalty. And she thinks the jury is not in a hurry because of the crock pot.
I am glad I listened. She was decent and not rude to the host. Wow.
Duluth, glad you were able to use the New Reply button. I was wondering if you had the same problem I did when I first started and had to hit reply because I didn't realize I had to log in when I first came in every so often. I couldn't get to the New Reply button so I would just hit reply, log in and erase the other reply. Once I saw the log in on the first page, I just hit New Reply.

The jury came in and is still deliberating. It is nerve wracking, wondering what they are thinking and if they can come to a consensus or if they will be deadlocked.

The interesting thing about this jury is there is a woman on there who is a domestic violence victim, a male with a bachelors degree in psychology and a nurse whose mother has a mental health background. And this jury is younger and has 8 women and 4 men. They ought to be able to see through Arias' lies about mental illness, domestic violence and realize that she had to be violent and dangerous if she stabbed him 20 times in the heart, chest, back and neck, slit his throat and shot him in the head.

My husband who is an engineer and very logical and pragmatic said that he believed that the jury is going to be very offended by the defense's implying that Travis Alexander deserved to die because he watched porn and played the field, especially after Martinez showed them the autopsy pictures of Travis Alexander's corpse riddling with stab wounds and his head nearly cut off. He said Travis Alexander didn't do anything that most of the men on the jury hadn't done and they will see through the nonsense. Plus, the women are young so they wouldn't be shocked by the sex fantasies and if there are any Mormons they will be more offended by Nurmi's accusing the bishop and Deanna Reid of lying and Geffner stating that he didn't bother to interview Mormons because they would lie about sex than they would be of Travis Alexander having premarital sex and watching porn.

My husband said Martinez has retried death penalty sentencing phases before and gotten a death sentence so he knows what information he needs to give the new jury to get them to vote for death.

Juries tend to give women life rather than death but Martinez got a death sentence for the woman who tried to poison and then bludgeoned her weak helpless husband who was dying of cancer because he didn't die fast enough and then claimed self defense.

I would be so happy to watch Arias face if she gets the death sentence. She is so sure that no one would kill anyone as precious as her. That would wipe the smug smirk off her ugly face.
Arias just walked into the courtroom in her jail garments! Apparently they are on speakerphone with the attorneys for some reason I don't know.
duluth45 Wrote:Lunarscope, yes, Pasadena.  I had forgotten the name of that town.  And what would be Arias' reason for driving back to Yreka after renting the car in Redding?  I can't come up with an answer to that.

I mentioned drug running, Jodi may have slept in back seat or stayed in Redding Ca. The money appeared from somewhere' after she left Redding, not big time' but to gain a few hundred.
Jodi's brother had a drug use history and on the tabloid news a friend of Jodi said he lent her money' Martinez didn't need him, he was a Big Sur area drug dealer (police record) and lived about 10 miles south of the Purple Plum bar (Jodi said she got there 10:00ish = I believe the time and place Jodi testified) a waking distance from Margarettaville bar.
Then south on Pacific Coast Highway  (no traffic after midnight) to Matt and his roommates house (said she slept on the living room floor) about 5 miles from Darryl's house for breakfast' bank deposits and return to Darryl's to drop-off remote control for the DVD player!
Observer, thank you for forcing me to figure out how to new reply!!!! Another point too is that if there are Mormons on the jury, they generally don't tend to judge others. So I don't think they would think less of Travis. I have Mormon friends who think "we are just human, like everybody else, and make mistakes sometimes". They might be less judgmental than non-mormons in the end. It might be something they are taught in their classes, I don't know.
I personally was very offended by how Nurmi trashed Travis and most of it is lies. I think he went way way beyond the call on some of the things he said. But I don't know for sure what all the jury has heard. And I do agree with Nancy Grace that the stopping and starting will have an effect which was Nurmi's plan all along. Just like his objections during Juan's closing. To break his momentum.

Ideal I hope jurors are in suits and dresses with freshly groomed haircuts, ready for their 3 minutes of fame?

The jurors asked for an evidence list and asked two questions this morning that shows they are wanting to follow the rules and are serious about the process.

They asked if they could look at their notes during breaks or just in session. The judge replied just in session.

They asked if they could have a working lunch if all were present and the judge answered yes.

Jodi Arias was brought in the courtroom in shackles because the jury was not present and Martinez, Nurmi and Wilmott were all on the phone. Martinez arrived at the courthouse with the evidence list.

Since they want to work through lunch maybe they are eager to get finished and if don't arrive at a verdict by 4 pm will decide to deliberate Friday.

I don't care what Nancy Grace has to say. She isn't in that deliberation room so she doesn't know what is going on.
Defense fought anti-mormon and that kept this Catholic involved! To my beliefs God uses his angels and a few saints to do his leg work on earth, said because I firmly believe in guarding- angel and that divinity handles revenge both on heaven and on earth hopefully both in some cases. I wish bad Carma on the Jodi supporters and defense team but that not in my ability to enact! I am against all cruel and unusual punishment (even Jodi) because if one gets unfair treatment then more will get the same, DP = Jesus said give to Cesar that that belongs to Cesar and Arizona courts are Cesar!

My sister-in-law sent this link to me.
WOW - very direct and I am sure hard to write but very powerful words.

Observer (Sorry Duluth), I do not give a damn what Nancy Grace has to say! Enough said.
