Nern and Justice, I agree with you that Beth Karas has changed in her reporting since she was fired from HLN and is acting as a freelance journalist. I don't subscribe to her site but the snippets I have read of what she has said it seems like she doesn't know what she is talking about. I agree that she hasn't been following the trial like she did when she was getting paid by CNN to be in the courtroom every day. She can't make much money off her site at $6 a month. Most people won't pay for information when they can get it free. I've seen her picture on the courthouse steps with Jen, Paul and the other bloggers and trial watchers but I don't think she shows up every day since she lives in the East and has to cover her own travel expenses. I'm sure she is also taking other jobs that pay her for her legal advice to pay the bills. Attorneys Monica Lindstrom and Jeff Gold seem to know more about the Arias retrial than Karas does.
Nern, in your second post, I have no idea what you are talking about. What secrets transcripts? Who is MDLR? Please give links to your information so I can understand what you are talking about.

I believe what Nerm is talking about was released a month or two ago' the only thing that I've not heard was Maria De LA Rosa (call herself Cougarlicious on Facebook) calling the attorneys in chambers 'guys'!
This is 'case in point' as to why I fear Jodi in captivity, she has snowed the judge into allowing her freedom in in-chamber meetings' her defense team are being played, how can prison guards be immune, the weakness is let her have her way because' things matter not' then her scheme examples disadvantage if any restrictions apply from that point forward. Frankly she gets away with murder being allowed in the judges chambers with jury members present, I fear this Judge has fallen victim to Jodis charms and possibility of release after 25:years could be applied and have considered that possibility since jury asked the judge "what does life mean" during deliberations that fell undecided!

You can see no one on this board knew what “secret transcripts” you were referring to.
Now I see that the transcripts are from the Oct. 30, 2014 meeting in chambers between the judge, Martinez, Arias, Wilmott, De La Rosa and Nurmi where they discussed if Arias should be allowed to testify in secret.
It is difficult to read the transcript out of order but I got the gist.
Arias says she won’t testify with the public and media present because she will be “nervous: that the public and media are reacting to every word she says and she has been getting threats in jail since she testified in the last trial.
This is all hogwash. Any death threats would be investigated by the sheriff’s department and she is guarded 24 hours a day.
Martinez says being nervous is not an excuse to shut the media and public out and points out that she testified at the last trial.
Martinez is absolutely right. That is just a lame excuse because she wants to manipulate the jury without her family, the public and media thinking “here she goes lying again.” And this is just the first step in Arias plan to circumvent the law. Once the judge gives in to her blackmail, she figures she can get away with having to be cross examined by Martinez.
Nurmi says the court must consider how Arias perceives it, not the way the normal person perceives it because she has been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
It’s humorous to me how Nurmi pulls the mental illness excuse whenever Arias throws a tantrum and wants her way but denies she has the “fits of violence” that comes with Borderline Personality Disorder.
Maria De La Rosa says a man pretending to be Arias attorney has tried to see her in jail and the entire team and Arias are in danger.
Most likely the man is one of the crazies that believes Arias is innocent and wants to save her, not hurt her.
Arias refuses to testify unless the media is thrown out and fearing that will be grounds for a reversal of a death sentence, the judge gives into her tantrum until the media goes the Court of Appeals and they put an end to the “secret testimony.”
What I found interesting is how she talked about going to another facility (Perryville) and being in danger there as everyone there would know it was her that was testifying.
I think she is terrified of Perryville.
I think she used this as just another excuse that people could get to her when in fact, that is exactly what she is afraid of.
She uses her importance in this world to cry victim and everyone is out to get her even as she moves out of jail to prison.
One cannot help but think that with all the "haters" out there - and there are a lot of them and justly so, that it hasn't started to play on her mind as she nears the finish line with this trial.
I know that many would disagree with me saying she does not have the capacity to feel anything but she has the will to think of herself. With prison looming on the near horizon, maybe, just maybe, she isn't quite as sure of herself.
I have always said she would get sometime or another, her "due" when she gets to Perryville.
I'm confused if her parents were told to leave the courtroom or if their were further discussions still sealed!
